2023 Extreme E Season
The 2023 Extreme E Championship was the third season of the Extreme E electric off-road racing series. Calendar On 16 November 2022, the provisional 2023 season calendar was announced. Saudi Arabia, Sardinia and Chile returned from the previous year, with the latter moving to December, while Scotland joined. A further race in America, to take place in either Brazil or the United States, was scheduled for September as a replacement for Uruguay. This was later set to move to Argentina, but the plans fell through, with a second event in Sardinia eventually announced on 29 August 2023 to fill the slot. The following event was cancelled: Race format The weekend format was tweaked again prior to the start of season three. All events will now be double-headers, with one full round taking place on Saturday and another on Sunday. Extreme E
Extreme E was an FIA-sanctioned international off-road racing series that used spec silhouette electric SUVs to race in remote parts of the world, such as the Saudi Arabian desert or the Arctic. All racing locations were chosen to raise awareness for some aspects of climate change and Extreme E maintained a "Legacy Programme" to provide social and environmental support for those locations. The series also promoted gender equality in motorsport by mandating that all teams consist of a female and a male driver who share equal driving duties. The first season began with the Desert X-Prix in Saudi Arabia in April 2021. The series ended in 2024 with just 4 of 10 planned races completed. Molly Taylor
Molly Anne Taylor (born 6 May 1988) is an Australian Rallying, rally car driver. She is the 2016 Australian Rally Champion, the first and only woman to win the Australian Rally Championship and the youngest regardless of gender, and the 2021 Extreme E Champion. She was the first female accepted into the Australian Motor Sports Foundation (AMSF) International Rising Star Program and also awarded the New South Wales (NSW) Confederation of Australian Motorsport Young Achiever of the Year Award in 2006. In 2011, she was part of the World Rally Championship Pirelli Star Driver program and one of the youngest and the only female driver participating in the WRC. Veloce Racing
Veloce Racing is a British motorsport team founded by Jean-Éric Vergne, Adrian Newey and Rupert Svendsen-Cook that will compete in the all-hydrogen off-road racing championship Extreme H. Veloce formerly competed in the all-female single-seater racing series W Series and the all-electric off-road racing championship Extreme E. Extreme E 2021 Veloce joined Extreme E for its inaugural season in 2021, announcing 2019 W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and former F1 and WRC driver Stéphane Sarrazin as their line-up.
