2023 Drive For The Cure 250
The 2023 Drive for the Cure 250 presented by BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina was the 29th stock car race of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series, the final race of the Round of 12, and the 42nd iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Concord, North Carolina at the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval layout, a permanent road course. The race took the scheduled 67 laps to complete. Sam Mayer, driving for JR Motorsports, would put on a blistering performance, winning the pole and leading a race-high 50 laps, earning his third career NASCAR Xfinity Series win, and his third of the season. He would also earn a spot in the next round of the playoffs. Charlotte Motor Speedway
Charlotte Motor Speedway (known as Lowe's Motor Speedway from 1999 to 2009 due to sponsorship reasons) is a quad-oval Oval track racing#Intermediate, intermediate speedway in Concord, North Carolina. It has hosted various major races since its inaugural season of racing in 1960, including NASCAR, IndyCar, and IMSA SportsCar Championship races. The facility is owned by Speedway Motorsports, Speedway Motorsports, LLC (SMI), with Greg Walter serving as its general manager. Charlotte Motor Speedway is served by U.S. Route 29. John Hunter Nemechek
John Hunter Nemechek (born June 11, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 42 Toyota Camry (XV80), Toyota Camry XSE for Legacy Motor Club. He is the son of NASCAR driver Joe Nemechek and was the 2012 champion in the Allison Legacy Series.
