2023 Dockerty Cup
The 2023 Dockerty Cup was the 99th season of the Dockerty Cup, the annual soccer knockout cup competition held between men's clubs in Victoria. The competition also served as qualifying rounds for the 2023 Australia Cup. A total of 218 clubs − a record since the return of the competition in 2011 − entered the qualifying phase, with clubs entering in a staggered format. Oakleigh Cannons won its first Dockerty Cup, defeating Heidelberg United in the final on 4 August 2023. Oakleigh Cannons Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in the south-east Melbourne suburb Oakleigh, Victoria, Oakleigh. As of 2025, the club competes in the National Premier Leagues Victoria (NPL Victoria). History South Oakleigh Soccer Club was established by members of Oakleigh's Greek Australian community on 12 December 1972. The club soon changed its name to Oakleigh Soccer Club. The 2011 Mirabella Cup was the first edition of a football (soccer) knockout-cup competition held between men's clubs in Victoria, Australia in 2011, the annual edition of the Dockerty Cup. It was to be unique in Association football in Australia, Australian football in that the competition was to integrate clubs from the national top-level league, the A-League, with the state system below. Alexander Mark Salmon (born 9 July 1994) is an English footballer who is plays as a forward for Green Gully SC in the National Premier Leagues Victoria in Australia. The 2023 Australia Cup was the tenth season of the Australia Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. Thirty-two teams contested the competition proper, with the winner qualifying for the 2024–25 AFC Champions League Two. Macarthur FC were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Campbelltown City in the Round of 32. Sydney FC won its second Australia Cup after defeating Brisbane Roar in the final. This also resulted in qualification to the group stage of the AFC's 2024–25 AFC Champions League Two competition.
