2023 Channel One Trophy
The 2023 Channel One Trophy was a Russian domestic team figure skating competition held from 21 to 22 January 2023 in Moscow, Russia. Single skaters who placed in the top eight and pairs who placed in the top 4 at the 2023 Russian Championships were invited to compete. Skaters competed against each other in two teams consisting of four men's single skaters, four ladies' single skaters and two pair teams. Four ice dance teams were invited to show their programs but did not contribute to the points gathered by the teams. The teams were randomly selected by draw by team captains Kamila Valieva and Alina Zagitova. The competition was broadcast by Channel One Russia and was made available to international viewers via YouTube. 2022–23 Figure Skating Season
The 2022–23 figure skating season began on July 1, 2022, and ended on June 30, 2023. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU (International Skating Union) Championship level at the 2023 European Championships, Four Continents Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Championships. They also competed at elite events such as the ISU Challenger Series as well as the Grand Prix and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating at the Grand Prix Final. On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union banned all figure skaters and officials from Russia and Belarus from attending any international competitions following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The season was the first under newly elected ISU President Kim Jae-youl and ISU Vice President for Figure Skating Benoît Lavoie. Aleksandra Boikova
Aleksandra Igorevna Boikova (; born 20 January 2002) is a Russian pair skater. With her skating partner, Dmitrii Kozlovskii, she is the 2020 European champion, the 2021 World bronze medalist, the 2019 European bronze medalist, a six-time Grand Prix medalist (including four golds), the 2020 Russian national champion, and a six-time Russian national medalist. On the junior level with Kozlovskii, she is the 2017 Junior World silver medalist, the 2016–17 Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, and the 2017 Russian junior national champion. Vladimir Evgenyevich Morozov (; born 1 November 1992) is a retired Russian pair skater. With partner Evgenia Tarasova, he is the 2022 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time World medalist (2018 and 2019 silver, 2017 bronze), a two-time European champion (2017, 2018), the 2016–17 Grand Prix Final champion, and a three-time Russian national champion (2018, 2019, 2021). Sofia Andreevna Muravieva (; born 4 August 2006) is a Russian figure skater. She is the 2021 JGP Cup of Austria champion, the 2021 JGP Slovakia silver medalist, the 2024 Russian national silver medalist, and a two-time Russian junior national bronze medalist (2021, 2022).
