2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Shield
The 2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Shield was the sixth edition of the CONCACAF Caribbean Shield, the second-tier annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), a sub-confederation of CONCACAF. The winners and runners-up of the 2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Shield, as long as they fulfill the CONCACAF Regional Club Licensing criteria, will qualify to the 2023 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup. Bayamón, having won the title in 2022, were the title holders, but did not qualify since they lost in the 2022 Liga Puerto Rico Apertura semifinals against Puerto Rico Sol. The Liga Dominicana de Fútbol is the first professional football league in Dominican Republic, it was launched in March 2015. For sponsorship reasons it is known as ''LDF Banco Popular''. History Prior to the league's establishment, football in the Dominican Republic is only played in amateur level, partly due to football not being the top sport among Dominicans, who are more inclined to baseball and basketball. To address the issue and to raise the status of football in the country, the Dominican Football Federation has decided to implement the idea of a new professional league in the country, to attract more people into the sport. Dominica Premier League
The Dominica Premier League is the top division for association football in Dominica, it was created in 1970. Eight teams participate in this league. Starting in 2005, the winner and runners-up can qualify for the CONCACAF Champions Cup from the first round of the CFU Club Championship. The teams play an 18-matches league (home and away matches against the other 9 teams), in the end of that 18 matches the winner is declared the Dominica Champion and the 10th placed is relegated to Dominica First Division. Curaçao Promé Divishon
The Promé Divishon (Papiamento: "First division") also known as Liga MCB 1st Division for sponsorship reasons, is the top association football league and only semi-professional league in Curaçao, constituent country of the Netherlands. Up to 2010 the top two teams in this competition got to compete in the Kopa Antiano, the Netherlands Antilles Championship. After the dissolution of the country, Curaçao became the successor of the Netherlands Antilles in CONCACAF and the teams competing can qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League, by placing in the top final three positions of the CFU Club Championship. The Cayman Islands League is the top association football league in the Cayman Islands and was created in 1980. Despite being a league competition in CONCACAF since 1992, no team participated in the CFU Club Championship until the 2010 CFU Club Championship, where Elite SC entered.
