New Zealand Open
The New Zealand Open is the premier men's golf tournament in New Zealand. It has been a regular fixture on the PGA Tour of Australasia tournament schedule since the 1970s. The 2019 event was the 100th edition of the tournament. Since 2014 it has been held as a pro-am in February or March. Prize money for the 2020 event was NZ$1.4 million, with an additional NZ$50,000 for the pro-am; the tournament winner received NZ$252,000. The 2023 Korean Tour was the 46th season on the Korean Tour, the main professional golf tour in South Korea since it was formed in 1978. European Tour strategic alliance extension Following the strategic alliance partnership signed with the European Tour in December 2022, the season marked the inaugural edition of the Korea Championship, the first time the Korean Tour had co-sanctioned an event with the European Tour since 2013. Following the conclusion of the event, a new extension to the strategic alliance was announced in May by the European Tour. As part of the extension, an additional two players (three in total) from the Korean Tour Order of Merit were awarded European Tour status for the following season. The GS Caltex Maekyung Open, as it is known for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament that takes place in Seoul, South Korea. It was established in 1982, replacing the Korea Open as the South Korean event on the Asia Golf Circuit. Kieran Vincent (born 24 November 1997) is a Zimbabwean professional golfer who currently plays on the Asian Tour and the LIV Golf. He won the 2023 International Series Vietnam. Career Vincent was born in Harare and played college golf at Liberty University in Virginia, where he was Big South Conference Rookie of the Year in 2017. Kho Taichi (; born 13 November 2000) is a Hong Kong professional golfer who plays on the Asian Tour. The World City Championship is a golf tournament on the Asian Tour held at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Hong Kong. The inaugural tournament served as one of 11 events around the world in the Open Qualifying Series (OQS) for the 2023 Open Championship. Miguel Luis Lopez Tabuena (born 13 October 1994) is a Filipino professional golfer. He plays on the Asian Tour where he has won twice. Amateur career As an amateur golfer, Tabuena won the events in Malaysia and Singapore and won the silver medal at the 2010 Asian Games in the men's individual event. He turned professional in 2011. Professional career Tabuena has played on the Asian Tour since 2011. He picked up his first win at the 2015 Philippine Open. Wade Ormsby (born 31 March 1980) is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and on the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Career Ormsby was born in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He attended the University of Houston in the United States for three years before turning professional in 2001. Ormsby began his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia in his home country, while also trying to play in Europe.
