2023 ATP Tour Masters 1000
The 2023 ATP Masters 1000 season is the thirty-fourth edition of the ATP Masters Series tennis tournaments. The champion of each Masters event is awarded 1,000 rankings points. Beginning this year, the Masters events in Madrid, Rome, and Shanghai were expanded to two weeks in duration with a 96-player draw for singles. Russian and Belarus players competed under no nationality due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Canadian Open (; also known as the Canada Masters, and currently branded as the National Bank Open presented by Rogers for sponsorship reasons) is an annual professional tennis tournament held in Ontario and Quebec, Canada. It is played on outdoor hardcourts. The men's competition is an ATP Masters 1000 event on the ATP Tour, and the women's competition is a WTA 1000 event on the WTA Tour. It is the second-oldest active tennis tournament in the world, with Wimbledon the oldest. Prior to 2011, the two competitions were held during separate weeks in the July–August period; now the two competitions are held during the same week in August. Neal Skupski
Neal Skupski (born 1 December 1989) is a British professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 1. He achieved this milestone in November 2022, topping the rankings jointly with long-time partner Wesley Koolhof at the end of that year. Skupski became the third British world no. 1 in doubles after Jamie Murray and Joe Salisbury. Skupski is a three-time Grand Slam champion, having won the 2023 Wimbledon Championships in men's doubles with Koolhof, and the 2021 and 2022 Wimbledon Championships in mixed doubles alongside Desirae Krawczyk. Wesley Koolhof
Wesley Koolhof (; born 17 April 1989) is a Dutch former professional tennis player who was ranked World No. 1 in doubles. He is a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the 2023 Wimbledon Championships in men's doubles with Neal Skupski and the 2022 French Open in mixed doubles with Ena Shibahara. Koolhof also finished runner-up in men's doubles at the 2020 and 2022 US Opens, alongside Nikola Mektić and Skupski respectively. 2023 BNP Paribas Open – Men's Doubles
Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden defeated Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski in the final, 6–3, 2–6, 0–8 to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters. At the age of 43, Bopanna overtook Daniel Nestor to become the oldest ATP Masters 1000 finalist and champion, winning his fifth Masters 1000 title and 24th career ATP Tour doubles title overall. It was Ebden's first Masters 1000 title and ninth career doubles title. John Isner and Jack Sock were the defending champions, but lost in the semifinals to Bopanna and Ebden.
