2022–23 Super50 Cup
The 2022–23 Super50 Cup was a cricket tournament; it was the 48th edition of the Super50 Cup, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament took place in October and November 2022 in Trinidad and Tobago. The tournament consisted of eight teams: Barbados national cricket team, Barbados, Guyana national cricket team, Guyana, Jamaica national cricket team, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands cricket team, Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago national cricket team, Trinidad and Tobago, the Windward Islands cricket team, Windward Islands, the Combined Campuses and Colleges cricket team, Combined Campuses and Colleges, and a West Indies Academy. The previous edition, which took place in February 2021, was won by Trinidad and Tobago. Cricket West Indies
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly Commonwealth Caribbean, English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. This rebranding formally occurred in May 2017. CWI has been a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1926. Shai Diego Hope (born 10 November 1993) is a Barbadian cricketer, who plays as a wicketkeeper-batsman for the West Indies cricket team. He is also the current ODI &T20I captain of the Windies. In June 2018, he was named the Men's Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year and the ODI Cricketer of the Year at the annual Cricket West Indies' Awards. Shamar Kamal Springer (born 26 November 1997) is a Barbadian cricketer. He made his List A debut on 16 January 2015 in the 2014–15 Regional Super50 tournament. Ramon Romario Simmonds (born 16 October 2001) is a Barbadian cricketer, who is a left-arm fast medium bowler. He plays for Barbados cricket team in West Indian domestic cricket, having previously represented the West Indies under-19 cricket team. Jair McAllister (born 30 August 1996) is a West Indies cricketer. Career He made his first-class debut for Barbados against Guyana on 1 February 2023 during the 2022–23 West Indies Championship. Roston Lamar Chase (born 22 March 1992) is a Barbadian cricketer who plays for the West Indies and Barbados. An all-rounder, he is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off spin bowler.
