2022–23 Q Tour
The 2022–23 Q Tour is a series of snooker tournaments to take place during the 2022–23 snooker season. The Q Tour is the second-tier tour, run by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, for players not on the main World Snooker Tour. A series of six events were played with the leading money-winner gaining a place on the main tour for the 2023–24 snooker season. The 16 highest-ranked players who had not already got a place on the main tour for the 2023–24 season, gained entry to a further event, the WPBSA Q Tour Playoff, the winner of which also gets a place. Martin O'Donnell won two of the six events to be the leading money-winner and gain a place on the tour. Ashley Carty won the playoff to gain the second place. 2021–22 Q Tour
The 2021–22 Q Tour was a series of snooker tournaments that took place during the 2021–22 snooker season. The Q Tour is the second-tier tour, run by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, for players not on the main World Snooker Tour. Initially announced in July 2020, the tour was delayed by a year and started in late 2021. A series of four events were organised with the leading money-winner gaining a place on the main tour for the 2022–23 snooker season. Si Jiahui led the list but had already got a place on tour, so Sean O´Sullivan, who finished second, got the place. The 16 highest-ranked players who had not already got a place on the main tour for the 2022–23 season, gained entry to a further event, the WPBSA Q Tour Playoff, the winner of which also got a place. Andrew Higginson
Andrew Higginson (born 13 December 1977) is an English former professional snooker player from Widnes, Cheshire. He is best known for being the surprise finalist of the 2007 Welsh Open. Career Early years After some success in amateur tournaments, Higginson turned professional for the 2000/2001 season after finishing third on the Challenge Tour. He remained there for five seasons before dropping off, after encountering limited success. He won a place back on the tour for 2006/2007 after finishing second on the Pontins' International Open Series. Jamie Curtis-Barrett
Jamie Curtis-Barrett (born 19 April 1984 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire) is an English snooker player. Career After playing snooker from the age of 11, Curtis-Barrett drifted away from the game after the death of his grandfather who had been a huge influence on his game. He began playing regularly again in the 2000s and earning a sponsor in 2009. As an amateur, he entered qualifying for both the 2015 Australian Goldfields Open and 2016 German Masters, losing in the first qualifying round of both tournaments. Curtis-Barrett turned professional in 2016 after finishing second on the Q-School Order of Merit. Peter Devlin (snooker Player)
Peter Devlin (born 10 August 1996) is an English former professional snooker player, rapper, presenter and MC from Leyton in East London. Snooker career Devlin was crowned the 2016 England Under-21 Champion as a 19 year old, following a victory over Richard Haney by an 8-6 margin in the final, and a 107 break to seal the match. Other notable wins in the event included a semi final win over Louis Heathcote. Devlin finished high enough in the 2018 Q School Order of Merit to earn a place for some ranking events. Competing at the 2019 Snooker Shoot Out Devlin won as an amateur against professional Ross Muir 35–16, before losing to experienced player Rory McLeod who also beat Joe Perry and Jimmy White in that tournament. Steven Hallworth
Steven Hallworth (born 1 December 1995) is an English former professional snooker player. He is the only ever qualified professional from Lincoln. He is a practice partner of Stuart Carrington. Career Junior Hallworth started playing snooker aged 10 after trying pool on a family holiday. He then found success in junior and amateur levels and was given the opportunity to play future World Champion Mark Selby aged 12 in 2009, after winning that year's Under-17 Lincoln and District Billiards and Snooker Association crown. Eden Sharav
Eden Sharav ( he, עדן שרב; born 30 April 1992) is an Israeli-Scottish former professional snooker player. He was born in Israel to an Israeli father and a Scottish-born mother. Career Amateur In 2010 Sharav reached the final of the Scottish amateur championship at the age of 17, one of the youngest players to compete in the final, the final was a best of 13 match against Bobby Cruickshanks, Eden lead the match 6-5 but eventually lost 7-6. In 2011 Sharav won the Pontins "Star of the Future" event aged 19 beating fellow Scotsman Ross Muir 4–0 in the final in Prestatyn. Liam Davies (snooker Player)
Liam James Davies (born 28 June 2006) is a Welsh amateur snooker player. Competing at the 2022 World Snooker Championship, Davies was the youngest player to win a match at the event. In addition to defeating Aaron Hill (snooker player), Aaron Hill, Davies defeated Fergal O'Brien before losing on a to Jordan Brown (snooker player), Jordan Brown in the penultimate qualifying round. As a result of high placing on the 2020–21 Q Tour, he was allowed to play in qualification events for the professional 2021–22 snooker season. Rory McLeod (snooker Player)
Rory McLeod (born 26 March 1971) is a British-Jamaican professional snooker player. McLeods highest ranking,is 32 in August 2011. He has reached the last 16 in ten ranking tournaments, and his most notable achievement came in 2015, when he won the Ranking Ruhr Open, beating Tian Pengfei in the final. Having suffered relegation from the main tour at the end of the 2018-2019 season, McLeod spent the 2019-20 season playing on the World Seniors Tour and Challenge Tour; he regained his professional status in August 2020 at Q School. Career After working for ten years he reached the Main Tour professional ranks for the 2001/2002 season. McLeod has reached the last 16 of eight ranking tournaments. WPBSA
The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is the governing body of professional snooker and English billiards based in Bristol, England. It owns and publishes the official rules of the two sports and engages in promotional activities. Florian Nüßle
Florian Nüßle (born 18 December 2001) is an Austrian snooker player from Graz. In 2017, aged 16, he became his country's youngest national snooker champion. Career National tournaments Florian Nüßle became interested in snooker as a child and played pool with a standing aid when he was five years old. He also played football in his youth for five years for SK Sturm Graz and golf, but ultimately opted for snooker. After obtaining his secondary school certificate he went to the UK with the aim of becoming a professional player.
