The 2022–23 Israeli Basketball State Cup, for sponsorships reasons the Migdal State Cup, was the 63rd edition of the Israeli Basketball State Cup, organized by the Israel Basketball Association. On 3 January, 2023, the Israel Basketball Association held the draw for the Quarterfinals. The draw for the Semifinals held on 16 January, 2023. Qualified teams The top eight ranking teams after the first rotation (11 rounds) of the 2022–23 Israeli Basketball Premier League regular season qualified to the tournament. Israeli Basketball State Cup
The Israeli Basketball State Cup () is the second most important professional basketball competition in Israel, after the Israeli Super League. It is the national federation cup of Israel. The tournament began in the 1955–56 season, and is run by the Israel Basketball Association. In the 21–22 season, the tournament format was changed so that only the first 8 teams at the end of the first rotation of the Israeli Basketball Premier League will compete. The quarter-final matches will be drawn between the teams in places 1-4 against 5-8 for a one-game elimination match. Hapoel Galil Elyon
Hapoel Galil Elyon (), also known as Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion for sponsorship reasons, is an Israeli basketball club. The team competes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top tier of Israeli basketball, and internationally in the Balkan League. The team represents the northern region of the country – the Upper Galilee, and the Golan Heights. In June 2008, the club rights in the Israeli Basketball Premier League transferred to Hapoel Gilboa (which had previously been merged with Hapoel Afula, which regained their independence) to form a new club, Hapoel Gilboa Galil, which represents the Gilboa and Lower Galilee regions. J'Covan Brown
J'Covan Marquis Brown (born February 14, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He played college basketball for the University of Texas before playing professionally in Greece, Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Israel. Standing at , he plays at the point guard and shooting guard positions. High school career Brown attended Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas, where he averaged 29.9 points per game while playing in 11 contests during his senior season.
