2022–23 International League T20
The 2023 International League T20, also known as the DP World ILT20 2023 for sponsorship reasons, was the inaugural season of the International League T20 (ILT20), a professional Twenty20 cricket league in the United Arab Emirates, organised by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). In June 2022, it was confirmed that the season would be played in January and February 2023. The fixtures were announced on 29 November with the league set to run from January 13 to February 12. Although matches were played using standard Twenty20 formats, players' statistics were not included in official records because Emirates Cricket Board is not a full-member of the International Cricket Council. Emirates Cricket Board
Emirates Cricket Board is the governing body of certain cricket activities in United Arab Emirates. It is United Arab Emirates's representative at the International Cricket Council and is an Associate Member and has been a Member of that body since 1990. It is also a Member of the Asian Cricket Council. On 21 July 2016, UAE cricket took a step towards "full professionalism", with the Emirates Cricket Board granting two-year central contracts to eight of its players. In June 2018, ECB announced the first ever T20 franchise league in UAE, scheduled to start later that year after the T10 tournament. Dubai Capitals is a Twenty20 franchise cricket team based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates that competes in the International League T20 tournament since 2023. The team's home-ground is the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The team is coached by Hemang Badani. The franchise is owned by the GMR Group. The teams for the competition, representing 6 different cities of United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, were put up on auction in UAE in September 2022. Charith Asalanka
Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka (born 29 June 1997) is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who currently serves as the captain of the national team in white-ball formats of Twenty20 International, T20I and One Day Internationals, ODI. Chandradasa Brahammana Ralalage Lahiru Sudesh Kumara, commonly as Lahiru Kumara (born 13 February 1997), is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who plays for the Sri Lanka national cricket team in all three formats of the game. Paul Stirling
Paul Robert Stirling (born 3 September 1990) is an Irish cricketer. Stirling is the opening batsman for the Ireland cricket team and an occasional right-arm, off-break bowler. Sunil Philip Narine (born 26 May 1988) is a Trinidadian cricket player who played internationally for the West Indies. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in December 2011 and Test match debut in June 2012. Primarily an off-spin bowler, he is also a left-handed batsman. Paul Farbrace
Paul Farbrace (born 7 July 1967) is the Head Coach of Sussex and a former professional cricketer. He is also a former assistant coach to the England cricket team. Farbrace, nicknamed "Farbie", was a wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman who represented Kent County Cricket Club and Middlesex County Cricket Club, playing in 40 first-class cricket matches and 28 List A cricket matches. Shane Bond
Shane Edward Bond (born 7 June 1975) is a New Zealand cricket coach and former cricketer and present bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals, described as "New Zealand's best fast bowler since Sir Richard Hadlee", and often among the greatest fast bowlers of his era.
