2022–23 FIS Snowboard World Cup
The 2022/23 FIS Snowboard Ski World Cup, organized by the International Ski Federation was the 29th World Cup in snowboarding for men and women. The season started on 22 October 2022 in Chur, Switzerland and concluded on 26 March 2023 in Silvaplana, Switzerland. This season included six disciplines: parallel slalom, parallel giant slalom, snowboard cross, halfpipe, slopestyle and big air. Karersee
Lake Carezza (; ) is a small alpine lake in the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. It is known for its wonderful colors and its view of the Latemar mountain range. Characterization The name of the lake derives from " Caricaceae", a family of plants with broad lobed leaves. The lake is located in the western Dolomites on the edge of the Latemarwald, just 20 kilometers southeast of Bolzano at 1520 m altitude in the municipality Welschnofen. The nearest settlement is Carezza. The roughly 300 m long and 140 m wide stretch of water is fed by underground springs from the Latemar mountain range. Today the lake is one of the classic tourist destinations of the Trentino-Alto Adige. In the winter, it is visited by divers who record documentaries of the colors of the underground waters. The small mountain lake is famous for its calm waters, of dark green color, and the beautiful panorama of mountains in the background. Livigno
Livigno (; local ; ) is a town, ''comune'' and a special-administered territory in the province of Sondrio, in the region of Lombardy, Italy, located in the Italian Alps, near the Swiss border. Montafon ( in local dialect: "''Muntafu''") is a long valley in the westernmost Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. It is traversed by the river Ill (Vorarlberg) and extends from the city of Bludenz and the Verwall Alps in the north, to the Silvretta and Rätikon mountain range in the south. Big Air
Big air is a high-injury-risk sports discipline where the competitor rides a vehicle, such as a motocross motorcycle, a skateboard, a snowboard, or a pair of skis, down a hill or ramp and performs aerial tricks after launching off very large jumps. In most versions, there is one large jump and therefore only one opportunity to perform a trick. It is an extreme version of slopestyle. Competitors perform complex tricks in the air, aiming to attain sizable height and distance as well, all while making every effort to secure a clean landing. Many competitions also require the rider to do a specific trick to win the major prize. The term was coined by French-Canadians because of their love for the extreme nature of the event. Slopestyle
Slopestyle is a winter sport in which athletes skiing, ski or snowboard down a course including a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps and other terrain park features. Points are scored for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks. The discipline has its roots in action sports like skateboarding and BMX and has very successfully crossed over into the snow sports worlds of skiing and snowboarding. Skiers use Twin-tip skis for their symmetry since they often go large portions of the course backward (referred to as "switch") and for their balanced weight so as to not destabilize spins. Slopestyle tricks fall mainly into four categories: spins, Grind (sport), grinds, grabs and Flip (acrobatic), flips, and most tricks done in competition are a combination of these.
