2022–23 FIBA WASL West Asia League
The West Asia League of the 2022–23 FIBA West Asia Super League (FIBA WASL) was one of the two primary phases of West Asia's premier basketball competition. The games began on 21 December 2022 and ended on 17 May 2023. Al Riyadi Club Beirut, Al Riyadi Beirut won the inaugural West Asia League subdivision title. Al Riyadi Club Beirut (), commonly known simply as Al Riyadi, is a Sports club, multi-sports club team based in Ras Beirut, Manara, a district in Beirut, Lebanon. Founded in 1934, the multi-sports club, which is mainly known for their basketball program, also plays ping-pong, martial arts, and other sports. Al Riyadi is the most successful basketball team in Lebanese history, and one of the best in Asian basketball. Darrin Dorsey (born May 17, 1987) is an American-born Cambodian professional basketball player for Nadim Souaid Academy of the Lebanese Basketball League. He is a 1.88 m. tall point guard. High school career Dorsey played high school basketball at Glendale High School in Glendale, Arizona. Shabazz Muhammad
Shabazz Nagee Muhammad (born November 13, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for the Hangtuah Jakarta of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). He played one season of college basketball for the UCLA Bruins before being selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. Muhammad went to Bishop Gorman High School, where he was named Mr. Basketball USA and Naismith Prep Player of the Year in his senior year. He was one of the top rated college basketball recruits in the class of 2012. Rodrigue Akl
Rodrigue Akl (born 30 September 1988) is a Lebanese basketball player for Sagesse SC of the Lebanese Basketball League. He is a six-foot-one-inch tall point guard, and is generally regarded as one of the best players of Lebanon at his position. Club career Akl started playing basketball when he was eight years old, playing for Champville SC's youth teams. Akl then made his professional debut when he played for Blue Stars and later signed with Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut for one season and then moved to Anibal Zahle.
