Subedar and Honorary Captain Karam Singh PVC, MM (15 September 1915 – 20 January 1993) was an Indian soldier and a recipient of the Param Vir Chakra (PVC), India's highest award for gallantry. Singh joined the army in 1941, and took part in the Burma Campaign of World War II, receiving the Military Medal for his actions during the Battle of the Admin Box in 1944. He also fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, and was awarded the PVC for his role in saving a forward post at Richhmar Gali, south of Tithwal. He was also one of the five soldiers chosen to raise the Indian flag for the first time after independence in 1947. Singh later rose to the rank of subedar, and was conferred the rank of honorary captain before his retirement in September 1969. India Sardjoe (born 19 May 2006) is a Dutch breakdancer. She won the Red Bull BC One world title in 2022 and later qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics, the first time breakdancing was featured at the games. Biography Sardjoe was born in 2006 in The Hague, Netherlands. Her father is Indo-Surinamese while her mother is of half-Indian and half-Dutch descent. She played football when young and started taking hip hop dance classes, but switched to breakdancing at age seven. By age 10, she won the Dutch national championship in the U12 category. She is a member of the groups Heavyhitters and Hustlekidz and is coached by Ton Steenvoorden. Antilai Sandrini (born 30th November 1997) also known as Anti, is an Italian breakdancer. She started breakdancing at 13 years old, after being introduced to it by her father. Sandrini has practiced gymnastics and cheerleading and is also an Italian Wushu Champion, having won silver medals in changquan and gunshu at the 2019 Mediterranean Wushu Championships. Sandrini competed at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, but was eliminated in the round-robin qualifiers. Vanessa Marina Cartaxo Farinha (born 21 March 1992) is a Portuguese breaker. She represented Portugal at the 2024 Summer Olympics, the first time breaking was featured at the games. Biography Marina was born on 21 March 1992 in Leiria, Portugal. She began breaking in 2012, after being introduced to the sport by a friend. Two years later, she moved from Lisbon to London to pursue breaking as a career and would help "evolve the UK B-girl scene." She has competed several times in the Red Bull BC One competition; in 2019, she won the gold medal in the competition's UK cypher. After losing in the final battle of the 2020 UK cypher, she began competing in the competition's Portugal cypher. She won the latter in 2021, but failed to qualify for the world final.
