2022 Viking FK Season
The 2022 season was Viking's 4th consecutive year in the Eliteserien, and their 72nd season in the top flight of Norwegian football. The club participated in the Eliteserien, the 2021–22 Norwegian Football Cup, the 2022–23 Norwegian Football Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League. It was the club's second season with Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim and Morten Jensen as managers. Viking Fotballklubb, commonly known as Viking or Viking Stavanger internationally, is a Norwegian football club from the city of Stavanger. The club was founded in 1899. It is one of the most successful clubs in Norwegian football, having won 8 Norwegian top division titles, most recently in 1991, and 6 domestic Norwegian Cup titles, most recently in 2019. Herman Johan Haugen (born 25 April 2000) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Viking FK. Career Haugen joined the academy of Viking FK from Hana IL at the age of 13. In 2019, he was loaned out to 2. divisjon club Vidar. On 6 February 2020, he signed a professional two-year contract with Viking, after impressing head coach Bjarne Berntsen and the rest of the coaching staff in pre-season. Niklas Sandberg (born 18 May 1995) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien side Sarpsborg 08. Career He started his youth career in Lura, but later joined the city's major team Sandnes Ulf. He made his senior debut in 2014. Yann-Erik Randa Bahezre de Lanlay (born 14 May 1992) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a winger for Viking in Eliteserien. Club career Early years De Lanlay was born in Norway to a French father and Norwegian mother, and is therefore eligible to play for both countries. Zlatko Tripić (born 2 December 1992) is a Norwegian-Bosnian footballer who plays as a winger for Viking FK. Club career Tripić was born in Rijeka, Croatia to Bosnian parents.
