2022 Vancouver Whitecaps FC Season
The 2022 Vancouver Whitecaps FC season was the club's twelfth season in Major League Soccer, the top division of soccer in the United States and Canada. Including previous iterations of the franchise, this was the 45th season of professional soccer being played in Vancouver under a variation of the "Whitecaps" name. On November 30, 2021, Vanni Sartini was named the permanent manager after taking over as the acting manager during the 2021 season. Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer team based in Vancouver. They compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The MLS iteration of the club was established on March 18, 2009, and began play in 2011 as the 17th team to enter Major League Soccer while replacing the USSF Division 2 team of the same name in the city, making them a phoenix club and the third to carry the Whitecaps name. The club has been owned and managed by the same group since their USSF days. In the 2012 season, the team became the first Canadian team to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs. Ranko Veselinović ( sr-Cyrl, Ранко Веселиновић; born 24 March 1999) is a Serbian professional footballer who plays for Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps. Club career Vojvodina Born in Novi Sad, Veselinović came through the Vojvodina youth academy, as a captain of the generation. In summer 2016, Veselinović signed a three-year scholarship contract. He joined the first team during the 2016–17 Serbian SuperLiga campaign at the age of 17 but missed to make any official appearance until the end of season. Cristián Daniel Gutiérrez Zúñiga (born 18 February 1997) is a professional soccer player who plays as a left-back for Major League Soccer club Toronto FC. Isaac Boehmer (born November 20, 2001) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Early life Boehmer began playing youth soccer with Pinnacles FC. He later played with Thompson Okanagan FC, while also training at the Vancouver Whitecaps Okanagan Academy Centre. Cody Cropper (born February 16, 1993) is a retired American professional soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. Youth soccer Born in Atlanta, Cropper moved to Maple Grove, Minnesota when he was 10.
