2022 VAFA Season
The 2022 VAFA season was the 121st season of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season began on 2 April and concluded on 23 September, with 66 teams participating across seven divisions under a promotion and relegation system. This was the first VAFA season since 2019 where finals series were held and premiers awarded, following the cancellation of the 2020 season and the curtailing of the 2021 season due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Victorian Amateur Football Association
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria, Australia, Victoria. Founded in 1892, it consists of six senior divisions, ranging from Premier to Division 3 in the men's competition and Premier to Division 4 in the women's competition. In addition, the VAFA has under-19s and Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections, with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in. The Old Scotch Football Club, nicknamed the Cardinals, is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Camberwell, Victoria, Camberwell. It affiliated with the List of Old Scotch Collegians, Old Scotch Collegians Association and maintains a close relationship with Scotch College, Melbourne, Scotch College. The Old Melburnians Football Club, also known as Old Melburnians, is an Australian rules football club composed of Melbourne Grammar School alumni, based in Elsternwick, Victoria. The Old Brighton Grammarians Football Club, nicknamed the Tonners, is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton. The club maintains a close relationship with Brighton Grammar School. Melbourne University Football Club, often known simply as University, is an Australian rules football club based at the University of Melbourne. Sam Grimley
Sam Grimley (born 3 January 1991) is an Australian rules footballer who currently plays for the University Blues in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). He previously played professionally for the Hawthorn Football Club and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career After Hawthorn won the 2008 premiership, the Hawthorn recruitment officer concentrated on the younger players in the 2009 AFL draft. St Kevin's Old Boys Football Club
St Kevin's Old Boys Football Club (SKOB) is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris. The club is linked to St Kevin's College. As of 2024, SKOB's men's and women's teams both compete in the Premier Division of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and the VAFA Women's (VAFAW) respectively.
