2022 Supercopa Paraguay
The 2022 Supercopa Paraguay was the second edition of the Supercopa Paraguay, Paraguay's football super cup. It was held on 25 January 2023 between the 2022 Primera División best-ranked champions in the aggregate table Olimpia and the 2022 Copa Paraguay champions Sportivo Ameliano at Estadio Defensores del Chaco in Asunción. Unlike the previous edition, this match was the opening event of the 2023 season. Sportivo Ameliano won the match, defeating Olimpia 1–0 to claim their first Supercopa Paraguay title. Sportivo Ameliano
Club Sportivo Ameliano, also simply known as Ameliano, is a Paraguayan football club based in Virgen del Huerto neighborhood in the city of Asunción. The club competes in the Paraguayan Primera División for the 2022 season after their promotion at the end of the 2021 Paraguayan División Intermedia. The club was home to Alfredo Mazacotte who began his career in the youth teams of the club, and is actually the home of historic striker Marcos Caballero who serves at the club since 2003, the player was the leading goal scorer of the Primera División C of 2008 with 11 annotations along with Alberto Cristaldo of Deportivo Recoleta. Blas Antonio Cáceres Garay (born 2 August 1990) is a Paraguayan footballer who plays as a midfielder for Club Nacional. Career Cáceres started his professional career in his home country, playing for Olimpia. He then went on to play for Guaraní and Sol de América. In 2014, the midfielder joined General Díaz and helped the team to the second stage of the Copa Sudamericana. After his period at General Díaz, Cáceres joined Paraguayan powerhouse Cerro Porteño, being part of the squad that won the 2015 Apertura of the Paraguayan Primera División. In 2016, the Paraguayan midfielder joined Vélez Sarsfield in the Argentine Primera División, signing a one and a half year loan, with an option to buy for 80% of his transfer rights. Julio César González Trinidad (born 28 June 1992) is a Paraguayan professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Paraguayan club Sportivo Ameliano. Career Sportivo Carapeguá were González's first senior club. He made his professional debut with them in the Paraguayan Primera División on 1 September 2013, featuring for the full duration of a 2–2 home draw with Guaraní. Alex Adrián Arce Barrios (born 16 June 1995) is a Paraguayan footballer who plays as a striker for Ecuadorian club LDU Quito and the Paraguay national team. Early life Arce came through the youth academy at Cerro Porteño and signed his first contract in 2015.
