2022 Stuttgart Surge Season
The 2022 Stuttgart Surge season is the second season of Stuttgart Surge in the European League of Football. Preseason On October 22, 2021 the organisation extended the contract with head coach Martin Hanselmann. After further preparation and signings of coaches, the Surge held their open tryout on November 28, 2021 and signed the first player for the 2022 season in December 12, 2021 with former Frankfurt Galaxy Benjamin "Benji" Barnes. With former NCAA Division-II Truman State University football program starting Quarterback Randall Schroeder, the team signed its third American quarterback in their history. The Waldau-Stadion, known as the Gazi-Stadion auf der Waldau for sponsorship purposes, is a multi-use stadium in the Degerloch district in Stuttgart, Germany. 2022 Vienna Vikings Season
The 2022 Vienna Vikings season is the inaugural season of the newly formed Vienna Vikings team in the second season of the European League of Football. Preseason After being introduced as one of the 2022 expansion teams, the Vikings announced on October 19, 2021 to continue with Chris Calaycay as a head coach. In November, the Vikings held their first ELF Combine on November 6, 2021 and there after signed the first player with Luis Horvath. The first notable acquisition is the signing of former Clemson Tigers wide receiver Diondre Overton. He then was drafted for the 2022 USFL season by the Philadelphia Stars (2022). On February 12, 2022 the management of the Vienna Vikings announced that they will play all their home games of this season in one of the most modern stadiums of the league with the Generali Arena Vienna. The 2022 Leipzig Kings season in the European League of Football is the second season in the Leipzig Kings history. Preseason The franchise began late in the preseason with player signings. The first one was the signing of former Kings running backs coach David McCants and one day later European veteran A.J. Wentland. Leipzig starting quarterback Michael Birdsong announced on March 21, 2022 that he will retire from his professional football career. His replacement for the 2022 season is Jordan Barlow, who was the starting quarterback for the Southwestern Assemblies of God University and won the Victory Bowl in 2021 as well as being named the offensive MVP of the championship game. Franz Horr Stadium
The Franz Horr Stadium, formally known as Generali Arena for sponsorship reasons and Viola Park for international matches, is a football stadium in the south of Vienna, Austria. It has been the home ground of FK Austria Wien since 1973. The stadium was built in 1925 as the new home of Czech immigrants' club SK Slovan and had a capacity of 10,850. Named after another Czech football club which owned the ground, the stadium was called České srdce ("Czech heart") ground.
