2022 Praga Cup
The 2022 Praga Cup was the first season of the Praga Cup made up of a grid of Praga R1Ts. The season began at Silverstone on 12 March and conclude at Donington Park on 23 October. Praga Cup
Praga is a district of Warsaw, Poland. It is on the east bank of the river Vistula. First mentioned in 1432, until 1791 it formed a separate town with its own city charter. History The historical Praga was a small settlement located at the eastern bank of the Vistula river, directly opposite the towns of Old Warsaw and Mariensztat, both being parts of Warsaw now. First mentioned in 1432, it derived its name from the Polish verb ''prażyć'', meaning ''to burn'' or ''to roast'', as it occupied a forested area that was burnt out to make place for the village. Separated from Warsaw by a wide river, it developed independently of the nearby city, and on 10 February 1648 king Władysław IV of Poland granted Praga with a city charter. However, as it was mostly a suburb and most buildings were wooden, the town was repeatedly destroyed by fires, floods and foreign armies. Charles Hall (racing Driver)
Charles Hall (born 13 November 1979) is a British racing driver from Sheffield, England. After beginning racing in karts, he moved to car racing in 1997 at age 18 in BARC Formula Renault and the Formula Vauxhall Winter Series. He finished second in the main championship of Formula Vauxhall the following year in 1998. In 1999 he drove in the British Formula Three Championship B-class and finished 5th in the Formula Vauxhall Europa Cup. In 2000 he competed in British Formula Renault and finished 6th with one victory at Silverstone Circuit. After starting 2001 in Formula Renault 2000 UK, he moved to the United States mid year to compete in Toyota Atlantic. In 2002 he competed in several different series. In 2003 he captured the Fran-Am 2000 winter series championship in the United States and drove in assorted other races in Europe. Pole Position
In a motorsports race, the pole position is usually the best and "statistically the most advantageous" starting position on the track. The pole position is usually earned by the driver with the best qualifying times in the trials before the race. The number-one qualifying driver is also referred to as the pole-sitter. British Automobile Racing Club
The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) is one of the biggest organising clubs for auto racing in the United Kingdom. History The Cyclecar Club was formed in 1912, running races for the small and light motorbike powered vehicles at Brooklands as well as rallies and sporting trials. Among the founder members of the club were H.R. Godfrey and Archie Frazer-Nash. In 1919, with cyclecars on the decline, the name of the club changed to the Junior Car Club (JCC). The club was immediately successful, with regional centres being formed in 1921, the same year the 200-Mile Race at Brooklands was organised, the first long-distance race to be run in Britain. Arden International
Arden International is a multiple formula racing team created and run by Christian Horner and Garry Horner. It currently runs teams in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and F4 British Championship, and formerly ran in the FIA Formula 2 Championship and GP3 Series. Scott Mansell
Scott Mansell (born 1 October 1985) is a former British racing driver and YouTube personality. He is not related to British Formula One champion Nigel Mansell. In June 2015, he started the Driver61 YouTube channel, presenting videos primarily about Formula 1 and autosport in general. In July 2021 he started his new youtube channel called Driven Media, which is more for cars and funny experiments with cars presenting videos about unique cars and celebrating their engineering. Ben Collins (racing Driver)
Ben Lievesley Collins (born 13 February 1975) is a racing driver from Bristol, England. He has competed in motor racing since 1994 in many categories, from Formula Three and Indy Lights to sportscars, GT racing and stock cars. Collins was placed second in the Marlboro Masters Formula 3 championship event in 2000. He set the pace at the 2001 Le Mans 24 hours race in his first season for approximately four hours during the rain at night. After winning the European Stock Car Championship in 2003 ASCAR stock car racing he was signed by PDM Racing to do selected rounds of the 2004 Indy Racing League, but the car never appeared. Praga R1
The Praga R1 is a sportscar made by Czech car manufacturer Praga Racing. The cars raced on the Supercar Challenge and the Britcar Endurance Championship. Development The first Praga R1 was built in 2012. Official Praga testdriver Danny van Dongen drove the car for the first time on October 10, 2012. Production of the R1 began in March 2013. Racing history On 15 November 2012 the Supercar Challenge organisation in conjunction with Praga Racing and Radical Benelux launched a new racing class. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Used as a military vehicle storage depot during the Second World War, it fell into disrepair until bought by local construction entrepreneur Tom Wheatcroft.
