2022 Paraguayan Primera División Season
The 2022 División Profesional season (officially the Copa de Primera TIGO-Visión Banco 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the 88th season of the Paraguayan Primera División, the top-flight professional football league in Paraguay. The season began on 4 February and ended on 13 November 2022. The fixtures for the season were announced on 14 December 2021. In the Torneo Apertura Libertad won their twenty-second league championship, clinching the title with one match in hand after beating Cerro Porteño by a 1–0 score on 25 June, whilst the Torneo Clausura was won by Olimpia, who claimed their forty-sixth league title after drawing 1–1 with Nacional on the last matchday played on 12 November. Cerro Porteño were the defending champions, having won the 2021 Clausura tournament. The División Profesional de la Paraguayan Football Association, Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol (; "Professional Division of the Paraguayan Football Association"), also known as the Primera División (; "first division"), or due to sponsorship reasons Copa de Primera TIGO-Visión Banco, is the top-flight professional association football, football league in Paraguay. Itauguá () is a city of the Central Department, Paraguay. Founded in 1728, it is known for the ñandutí, a form of traditional lacemaking, and its music. Héctor Marecos
Héctor Fernando Marecos Silvera (born 4 January 1979) is a Paraguayan football manager and former player who played as a goalkeeper. He is the current manager of . Playing career Born in Lima, San Pedro, Marecos played for Capitán Bado before making his debut with Colegiales in 1996. He subsequently represented Tembetary, Capitán Figari, Vencedor and 13 de Junio before playing for other amateur sides. Coaching career After retiring, Marecos started working as Edgar Denis' assistant before taking over Deportivo Capiatá in the later stages of 2013, as an interim. Estadio Defensores Del Chaco
Defensores del Chaco Stadium (, ; , named after the Paraguayan Chaco soldiers in the Chaco War) is a multi-purpose stadium in Asunción, Paraguay. Located in the Sajonia neighbourhood, it is the owned by the Paraguayan Football Association. It is currently used mostly for football matches. Club Sportivo Ameliano, also simply known as Ameliano, is a Paraguayan football club based in Virgen del Huerto neighborhood in the city of Asunción. The club competes in the Paraguayan Primera División for the 2022 season after their promotion at the end of the 2021 Paraguayan División Intermedia. Club Sportivo Luqueño is a Paraguayan football club, based in the city of Luque on the outskirts of the capital Asunción. It currently plays in the Paraguayan Primera División, the country's top tier of football, where it has won thrice, in 1951, 1953 and 2007-A. 2021 Paraguayan División Intermedia
The 2021 División Intermedia season, named ''"Cincuentenario del Club Atlético 3 de Febrero y Homenaje al Lic. Miguel Ángel Cañete Alderete"'', was the 103rd season of the second-tier league of Paraguayan football and 24th under the Paraguayan División Intermedia name. The season began on 9 April and ended on 26 October 2021. The fixtures for the season were announced on 15 January 2021. The competition returned after a one-year hiatus as the 2020 seasons of the lower-tier club tournaments of Paraguayan football were cancelled by the Paraguayan Football Association due to the COVID-19 pandemic. General Caballero (JLM) won their first División Intermedia title with four matches to spare, following a 4–1 victory over Rubio Ñu on 27 September 2021.
