2022 National League Play-off Final
The 2022 National League play-off final, known as the Vanarama National League Promotion Final for sponsorship reasons, was an association football match played on 5 June 2022 at the London Stadium between Solihull Moors F.C., Solihull Moors and Grimsby Town F.C., Grimsby Town. It determined the second and final team to gain Promotion and relegation, promotion from the National League (division), National League, English football's fifth English football league system, tier, to EFL League Two. By finishing first in the 2021–22 National League, Stockport County F.C., Stockport County gained automatic promotion to League Two, while the teams placed from second to seventh participated in the play-offs. 2021–22 National League
The 2021–22 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh season as English football's National League, the eightteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-third season overall. Due to the curtailment of the preceding season for North and South and lower levels of competition in the English football pyramid, promotion and relegation between levels 5 and 6, and between level 6 and lower levels were suspended. These, combined with the folding of Macclesfield Town in 2020–21 and the knock-on effects of Bury's collapse in 2019–20, meant that for the 2021–22 season the three divisions had the irregular complement of 23, 22 and 21 teams, respectively. Meadow Lane is a football (soccer), football stadium in Nottingham, England. It is the home ground of Notts County F.C., Notts County, who have played there since it opened in 1910. Gavan Holohan (born 15 December 1991) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Crawley Town. Beginning his career as a youngster with Hull City, Holohan returned to his native Ireland where he featured for League of Ireland sides Drogheda United, Cork City, Galway United and Waterford. Rúben da Rocha Rodrigues (born 2 August 1996) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or a forward for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Vitória. Kevin Cyril Davies (born 26 March 1977) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker for Chesterfield, Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall, Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End.
