2022 NCAA Division III Football Season
The 2022 NCAA Division III football season was the component of the 2022 college football season organized by the NCAA at the Division III level in the United States. The regular season began on September 3 and ended on November 12. This was the 49th season that the NCAA has sponsored a Division III championship. Mary Hardin–Baylor, the defending national champions, were the top-ranked team to begin the season. The season's playoffs were played between November 19 and December 16, culminating in the national championship—also known as the Stagg Bowl—at the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. Mary Hardin–Baylor Crusaders Football
The Mary Hardin–Baylor Crusaders football team represents the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor in college football in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the NCAA Division III level. The Crusaders are members of the American Southwest Conference (ASC), fielding its team in the ASC since 1998. The Crusaders play their home games at Crusader Stadium in Belton, Texas. Their head coach is Larry Harmon, who took over the position for the 2022 season after serving the previous twenty as the team's defensive coordinator under Pete Fredenburg. Collegiate Conference Of The South
The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the Division III ranks of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Member schools are located in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky. While competitive CCS play began immediately during the 2022–23 school year, the CCS will not be eligible for automatic NCAA Division III tournament bids until 2024. Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) is an intercollegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division III. Member institutions are located in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Founded as the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference (ICAC) in 1987, it reincorporated under its current name in 1998 with the addition of several schools from Ohio. Original members of the HCAC included Anderson, Bluffton, Franklin, Hanover, Manchester, Mount St. Joseph, Wabash, and Wilmington. Cortland Red Dragons Football
The Cortland Red Dragons football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the State University of New York at Cortland. The team competes in the NCAA Division III, and is a member of the Empire 8. The team plays its home games at James J. Grady '50, M '61 Field at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex or Grady Field for short in Cortland, New York. The Red Dragons are led by Curt Fitzpatrick, who has served as head coach since 2020. Gallaudet Bison Football
The Gallaudet Bison football team represents Gallaudet University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III (NCAA), Division III competition. It has been discontinued many times, and most recently restarted in 2007. After an undefeated season in 2005, the first time such a season was achieved in the program's 122-year history, head coach Ed Hottle began his campaign to return Gallaudet to the NCAA ranks.
