2022 Monterrey Open
The 2022 Monterrey Open (also known as the Abierto GNP Seguros for sponsorship reasons) was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 14th edition of the Monterrey Open and a WTA 250 tournament on the 2022 WTA Tour. It took place at the Club Sonoma in Monterrey, Mexico, from February 28 to March 6, 2022. During this tournament, the WTA and other international governing bodies of tennis including the ATP did not have players of Russia and Belarus compete under their country flags as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. WTA 250 Tournaments
WTA 250 is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International tournaments, WTA International Tournaments. At their introduction in 2021, WTA 250 tournaments' prize money was approximately $250,000. As of 2025 WTA Tour, 2025 season, this has risen to $275,094. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 250. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournament ("Major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 500 for winning a WTA 500 tournament. Madison Keys
Madison Keys (born February 17, 1995) is an American professional tennis player. She has been WTA rankings, ranked as high as world No. 5 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association, WTA. Keys has won ten WTA Tour-level career singles titles, including the 2025 Australian Open – Women's singles, 2025 Australian Open, defeating two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka. Wang Qiang (; ; born 14 January 1992) is a Chinese tennis player. On 9 September 2019, Wang achieved her highest singles ranking of world No. 12, becoming the third-highest ranked Chinese tennis player in history after Li Na and Zheng Qinwen.
