2022 Missouri Elections
Missouri state elections were held on November 8, 2022, and the primary election were held on August 2, 2022. Missouri voters elected their Class 3 United States Senate, US Senator, State Auditor of Missouri, State Auditor, all of the seats for the United States House of Representatives, House of Representatives, all of the seats of the Missouri House of Representatives, and 17 of 34 seats in the Missouri State Senate. The two statewide officer holders, Roy Blunt and Nicole Galloway, did not run for re-election leaving both statewide seats with no incumbents. Neil Newhouse is an American pollster. He is the co-founder of Public Opinion Strategies, a political survey and polling firm, and was the lead pollster for the unsuccessful presidential campaigns of both John McCain and Mitt Romney against Barack Obama. Early life and education Newhouse grew up in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He graduated from Duke University in 1974 and attended graduate school at the University of Virginia. Career In 1991 he founded the polling company Public Opinion Strategies with Bill McInturff and Glen Bolger, one of the biggest polling firms in Republican politics. 2022 Missouri Constitutional Amendment 3, also known as the Marijuana Legalization Initiative, was a ballot measure to amend the Constitution of Missouri to legalize cannabis at the state level in Missouri. The measure was on the November 7, 2022, general ballot and was approved by voters with a margin of 53–47 percent. Contents The amendment appeared on the ballot as follows: Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is directed to conduct cannabis licensing and regulation. The provisions of the amendment would officially go into effect on December 8, 2022.
