2022 Liberty Flames Football Team
The 2022 Liberty Flames football team represented Liberty University in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Flames played their home games at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia, and competed as an FBS independent. They were led by fourth-year head coach Hugh Freeze, who left before the bowl game leading to intern head coach Josh Aldridge. Hugh Freeze
Danny Hugh Freeze Jr. (born September 27, 1969) is an American college football coach. Since 2023, he has served as the head coach for Auburn University. A successful high school football coach at Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeze coached Michael Oher and Greg Hardy. He subsequently was the head football coach at Lambuth University from 2008 to 2009, Arkansas State University in 2011, the University of Mississippi ( Ole Miss) from 2012 to 2016, and Liberty University from 2018 to 2022. Under Freeze, the Ole Miss football program committed various recruiting and academic violations that figured in the NCAA's decision to expunge 27 of Freeze's wins and ban the team from post-season play for two years. 2022 UAB Blazers Football Team
The 2022 UAB Blazers football team represented the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a member of Conference USA (C-USA) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by interim head coach Bryant Vincent, who was coaching his first season with the team. The Blazers played their home games at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. During the last season, on October 21, 2021, UAB accepted the invitation to join the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and will become a full member on July 1, 2023. The 2022 season is expected to be the program's last season as a member of Conference USA. The 2022 Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs football team represented Gardner–Webb University as a member of the Big South Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by third-year head coach Tre Lamb, the Runnin' Bulldogs played their home games at the Ernest W. Spangler Stadium in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium, is a 17,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Hadley, Massachusetts, on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
