2022 Lanka Premier League
The 2022 Lanka Premier League also known as Mazaplay LPL T20, for sponsorship reasons, was the third edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. It was originally scheduled to take place from 31 July to 21 August 2022 with Sri Lanka Cricket initially having promised to conduct LPL tournament targeting the August window. The ODI series Pakistani cricket team in Sri Lanka in 2022, between Pakistan and Sri Lanka were scrapped due to the hosting of this tournament. However, in July 2022, the tournament was postponed due to the 2019–present Sri Lankan economic crisis, economic crisis in Sri Lanka, with the aim to play it later in 2022. The tournament was later rescheduled and held from 6 to 23 December 2022. The tournament also emphasized to promote and boost both the economy and international tourism. Sri Lanka Cricket
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. It was first registered with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Sports as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka on 30 June 1975 as a national sports body. The board was renamed in 2003. Seekkuge Prasanna
Seekkuge Prasanna (; born 27 June 1985) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer, who played limited overs cricket. He is a warrant officer in the Sri Lankan Army. Prasanna is known for aggressive batting at the late overs in ODIs, and a useful leg-spinner, probably the best found after former Sri Lanka leg-spinner Upul Chandana. Angelo Davis Mathews (; ; born 2 June 1987) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and a former captain of the national cricket team in all formats. Mathews plays all formats for Sri Lanka. Galle Marvels, formerly known as Galle Titans and Galle Gladiators, is a Sri Lankan franchise professional Twenty20 cricket team that competes in the Lanka Premier League, Sri Lanka and represents the city of Galle, Southern Province.
