The 2022 Kansas State Treasurer election took place on November 8, 2022, to elect the next Kansas State Treasurer. Incumbent Democrat Lynn Rogers was appointed on January 2, 2021, after his predecessor, Jake LaTurner, resigned after being elected to Congress. Republican Steven Johnson defeated Rogers in the general election. Samuel Dale Brownback (born September 12, 1956) is an American attorney, politician, diplomat, and member of the Republican Party who served as the United States Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom from 2018 to 2021. Brownback previously served as the Secretary of Agriculture of Kansas (1986–93), as the U.S. representative for Kansas's 2nd congressional district (1995–96), as a United States senator from Kansas (1996–2011) and the 46th governor of Kansas (2011–18). Tracey Robert Mann (born December 17, 1976) is an American businessman and politician who has served as the U.S. representative from Kansas's 1st congressional district since 2021. The district, popularly known as "the Big First," includes parts of 63 counties in central and western Kansas and is the seventh-largest district in the nation that does not cover an entire state.
