The 2022 season was FK Haugesund's 29th season in existence and the club's 13th consecutive season in the top flight of Football in Norway, Norwegian football. In addition to the 2022 Eliteserien, domestic league, FK Haugesund participated in this season's edition of the Norwegian Football Cup. FK Haugesund
Fotballklubben Haugesund (), usually referred to as FK Haugesund or FKH, is a professional association football, football club from the city of Haugesund that plays in the top tier of the Norwegian football league system. FK Haugesund previously played in the top division in 1996–1998 and 2000. The club have been runners-up in the Norwegian Cup in 2007 and 2019 as well as having competed in the qualifying stages for the UEFA Europa League in 2014–15, 2017–18 and 2019–20. The club's best achievement in the national league is the bronze medal in Eliteserien in 2013, and fourth place in the 2016 and 2018-seasons. It was originally founded on 28 October 1993 after a merger between the Haugesund-based football clubs SK Djerv 1919, Djerv 1919 and SK Haugar. The club plays its home matches at the Haugesund Stadion near the city-centre of Haugesund. The stadium has a capacity of 8,754. Bilal Elmi Njie (born 13 June 1998) is a footballer who plays as a winger for Eliteserien club Odd. Born in Norway, he plays for the Somalia national team. Career Vålerenga Njie began his career at Vålerenga, and made his first team debut on 30 September 2017 in a 4-2 loss vs. Stabæk Fotball, coming on as a late substitute. Frank Stople (born 12 February 2002) is a Norwegian football goalkeeper who plays for Norwegian club Strømsgodset. Julius Eskesen (born 16 March 1999) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien club Haugesund. Youth career Eskesen joined OB at the age of 10 from B1913 in Odense. On his 15-year birthday, Eskesen signed his first contract with OB. In 2016, Eskesen suffered from an injury, and was operated for it. Alexander Toft Søderlund (born 3 August 1987) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Vard Haugesund. He has represented the Norway national team. Club career After playing for Stegaberg IL in his youth, Søderlund played for Haugesund and Vard Haugesund.
