The 2022 FIM JuniorGP World Championship was the eleventh season of former CEV Moto3 and the ninth edition under the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, FIM. The championship had a name change enhancing JuniorGP leaving the historical connection to CEV. The season started in 8 May at Estoril Circuit, Portugal. Héctor Garzó Vicent (born 9 June 1998) is a Spanish motorcycle racer, competing in the MotoE World Cup for Tech3 team. Career Moto3 Junior World Championship Garzó competed in the 2016 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship without scoring a point. Moto2 European Championship Garzó moved to the Moto2 European Championship the following season, and was much more successful, scoring a 2nd place, and three 3rd place finishes in the year, ending the season with 126 points, and fourth in the overall standings. He would stay for the 2018 season as well, scoring two 3rd places in Aragón, before winning his first race of the category in Albacete. He would score one more podium, a second place in the season closer at Valencia, ending his season third in the championship standings, with 124 points. FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship
FIM Moto2 European Championship is a motorcycle racing competition intended for young racers in Europe. This competition is organized by Dorna, which also runs the competition MotoGP, and Superbike World Championship. Moto2 was initially a 600 cc four-stroke class. Engines were supplied exclusively by Honda, tires by Dunlop and electronics are limited and supplied only by FIM-sanctioned producers. Carbon brake discs are banned, only steel brake discs are allowed. However, there are no chassis limitations. The championship was scheduled to switch to Triumph engines in 2020, following the switch of the Moto2 World Championship in 2019. However the switch was postponed for 2020 and 2021 to reduce costs due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The championship switched to Triumph engines in 2022. Kawasaki Motors Racing was the European subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Motorcycle & Engine, located in the Netherlands. It was responsible for managing the racing activities of the MotoGP team.
