2022 Cork Premier Intermediate Football Championship
The 2022 Cork Premier Intermediate Football Championship was the 17th staging of the Cork Premier Intermediate Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 2006. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 8 February 2022. The championship ran from 22 July to 23 October 2022. The final was played on 23 October 2022 at Páirc Uà Chaoimh in Cork, between Kanturk and Bantry Blues, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Kanturk won the match by 3-11 to 1-10 to claim their first ever championship title. Cill na Martra's MÃcheál Ó Deasúna was the championship's top scorer with 5-21. Cork Senior A Football Championship
The Cork Senior A Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Bon Secours Cork County Senior A Football Championship and abbreviated to the Cork SAFC) is an annual club Gaelic football competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association from 2020 for the second tier senior Gaelic football teams in the county of Cork in Ireland. The series of games are played between the spring and autumn months, including a summer break, with the county final being played at Páirc Uà Chaoimh in October. Tadhg MacCarthaigh GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Caheragh in Cork, Ireland. This is a Gaelic football only club, with no hurling played. The club in 2008 decided to start an under-12 hurling team, so the club may become a dual club in the future. The club is a member of the Carbery division of Cork GAA. History The Tadgh MacCarthaigh GAA Club was founded in 1954. The first playing fields were in Sonny O’Driscoll’s and Dick Kingston’s of Corliss. Since then, their successes included Junior 2 titles in 1968 and 1975 beating Ardfield on both occasions and in 1991 when they beat Kilbrittain. Éire Óg is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Ovens, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with Cork GAA county board and the Muskerry divisional board. Na Piarsaigh are a hurling and Gaelic football club based in the north side of Cork City, Ireland. History Formation In 1943 a group of idealistic young men drawn mostly from the hurling nursery of North Mon laid the foundations of Cumann Iomana & Peile Na Piarsaigh. The group had its first formal meeting in the presbytery of the North Cathedral. The young men called upon one of their teachers, Donnacha Ó Murchú, for guidance and assistance. Aghabullogue GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Cork, Ireland. They are affiliated to the Cork County Board and play in the mid-Cork ( Muskerry) division of Cork GAA. Aghabullogue cater for both hurling and Gaelic football. History Aghabullogue have a long tradition of hurling. In 1890, they won the Cork Senior Hurling Championship. By the rules of the GAA at that time, this victory allowed Aghabullogue to go on and represent Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. They later collected a Munster title following a victory over Kerry. There was controversy in the subsequent All-Ireland final when an Aghabullogue men left the field after one of the players had his toe broken by a Wexford man's hurley. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club is affiliated with Carbery division of Cork. In 2007, Bandon won the West Cork Junior A Football Championship, beating Muintir Bhaire in the final. The club's hurling team meanwhile were runners-up in the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Whitechurch GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Whitechurch, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. History The Whitechurch club was first established in 1904 to represent the eastern half of Blarney parish. It made some progress on the Gaelic football field, however, it went into decline for a period. It was reformed as a hurling club for some years in the 1920s, and competed in the newly formed City Division. A shortage of players result in the club becoming defunct by 1928. In 1959, Whitechurch was revived as a sister Gaelic football club to Blarney hurling club in the Muskerry Division.
