2022 Colorado Buffaloes Football Team
The 2022 Colorado Buffaloes football team represented the University of Colorado Boulder as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Buffaloes played their home games on campus at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. After losing the first five games of the season, third-year head coach Karl Dorrell and defensive coordinator Chris Wilson (American football coach), Chris Wilson were fired on October 2; offensive coordinator Mike Sanford Jr. was named the interim head coach of the Buffaloes for the remainder of the season, who named Clay Patterson as the offensive coordinator and Gerald Chatman as the defensive coordinator. The 2012 Colorado Buffaloes football team represented the University of Colorado Boulder in the Pac-12 Conference during the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by second-year head coach and alumnus Jon Embree, the Buffaloes played home games on campus at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. The season was a disaster for the Buffaloes, who were regularly blown out by their opponents. CU lost to FCS Sacramento State, and only managed a single win with a late comeback at Washington State in Mike Leach's first season with the Cougars. Two days after the season on November 25, Embree was fired; he compiled a record, including 1–11 in his final year. To date, this is the worst season in program history. Karl James Dorrell (born December 18, 1963) is an American football coach. He has been the head coach for the UCLA Bruins football, UCLA Bruins and Colorado Buffaloes football, Colorado Buffaloes, being named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year for both. Dorrell led the UCLA Bruins football, UCLA Bruins to five bowl appearances and was the first African American head football coach in their history.
