2022 Boston Pizza Cup
The 2022 Boston Pizza Cup presented by Best Western, the provincial men's curling championship for Alberta, was held January 3 to 9 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The winning Kevin Koe team represented Alberta at the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier in Lethbridge, Alberta. The event was held in conjunction with the 2022 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship. Grande Prairie
Grande Prairie is a city in northwest Alberta, Canada within the southern portion of an area known as Peace River Country. It is located at the intersection of Highway 43 (part of the CANAMEX Corridor) and Highway 40 (the Bighorn Highway), approximately northwest of Edmonton. The city is surrounded by the County of Grande Prairie No. 1. Ryan Jacques
Ryan Jacques (born June 19, 2000) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. He is currently the skip of the Alberta Golden Bears men's curling team in university curling and on the World Curling Tour. Jacques was slated to represent Canada at the 2021 World Junior Curling Championships in Beijing, China, but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Curling career Jacques won two provincial U18 championships, in 2016 and 2018. At the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships, Jacques led his Alberta rink of Zachary Pawliuk, Gabriel Dyck, and Michael Henricks to a 3-2 record in pool play, just missing the top playoff tier. Nathan Connolly (curler)
Nathan Connolly (born 20 January 1981) is a Northern Irish musician, who is best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for alternative rock band Snow Patrol. Early life Connolly, who was born in Belfast, sang for a gospel church choir at Glenmachan, Church of God, Belfast when he was 16, and the experience, he says, is what inspired him to be a musician. He is a former pupil of Grosvenor Grammar School. Career Prior to joining Snow Patrol, Connolly was a member of a band called File Under Easy Listening (or F.U.E.L), who were managed by BBC Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray. Parker Konschuh (born April 10, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. Konschuh skipped a team composed of third Craig Bourgonje, second Jacob Ortt, and lead Mackenzie Walton out of the Saville Community Centre in Edmonton, AB. He previously threw second rocks for the Edmonton-based Mick Lizmore rink, appearing in the Men's Provincial semifinal in 2015. He was a member of the gold medal winning Canadian Junior Team at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships. Konschuh's only provincial junior title came in 2011, playing second for Colin Hodgson. Jamie King (born November 21, 1973 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian curler. King was the alternate for the Kevin Koe rink in 2010, where he won 2010 Tim Hortons Brier and 2010 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship. King played in just two games at the World Championships, against Denmark and Japan. For much of that season, King skipped his own Edmonton-based rink. Following the season, King joined the Warren Hassall rink as third, and then skipped the rink the following season. Ryan Parent (born March 17, 1987) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is currently interim head coach with the Utica Comets.
