2022 BAL Sahara Conference
The Sahara Conference of the 2022 BAL season began on 5 March 2022 and ended on 15 March 2022. In a group of six teams, all team played each other one time. The top four teams in the standings advanced to the 2022 BAL Playoffs. All games were played in the Dakar Arena in Dakar, Senegal. 2022 BAL Season
The 2022 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 2, was the second season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 2 March 2022 and ended with the Finals on 28 May 2022. The group phase was played in the Dakar Arena in Dakar and the Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo. The playoffs and finals were played in the BK Arena in Kigali for a second year in a row. Tunisian club US Monastir won the finals to win its first-ever BAL title, after defeating Angolan club Petro de Luanda in the 2022 BAL Finals. As winners, Monastir qualified for the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Format On 9 December 2021, the BAL announced a new format for the season, with an expansion of the number of total games to 38. Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza
Jean Jacques "J. J." Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza (born 26 June 1998) is a Rwandan basketball player who currently plays for REG on loan from APR of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). He is also a member of the Rwanda national basketball team. Early life Born in the Nyarugenge District of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. His role model was NBA player Kyrie Irving. Hameed Tariq Ali (born August 26, 1993) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Texas A&M–Corpus before turning professional in 2016. Professional career On August 8, 2016, Ali signed with Bristol Flyers of the British Basketball League. In March 2022, Ali played for the Senegalese DUC in the Basketball Africa League. Firas Lahyani (born 16 July 1991) is a Tunisian basketball player for AS Salé and the Tunisian national team. He is nicknamed "Air Tunisia", because of his athletic style of play and dunking abilities. Professional career Lahyani started his career with Sfax RS. In 2003, Lahyani signed with US Monastir. He won four consecutive national league titles with Monastir from 2019 to 2022. Ater James "AJ" Majok (born 4 July 1987) is a professional basketball player for Al Riyadi Club Beirut of the Lebanese Basketball League.
