2021–22 Liga II
The 2021–22 Liga II (also known as 2021–22 Liga II Casa Pariurilor) was the 82nd season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. A total of 20 teams contested the league. It was the sixth Liga II season with a single series. In the regular season each team played every other team once, then followed a promotion play-off and a relegation play-out. The first two teams promoted to Liga I at the end of the season and the third-placed and fifth-placed team played a play-off match against the 13th-placed and 14th-placed team from Liga I. The last five teams relegated to Liga III. The season began on 31 July 2021 and ended on 4 June 2022. Liga II
The Liga 2, most commonly spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07 football season. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company under the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Since its inception in 1934, Liga II has had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. But since the 2016–17 Liga II, 2016-17 Liga II, it changed to one group of 20 teams. Currently, the top six teams goes in the promotion play-off, in which the top 2 teams get promoted and the next 2 play a promotion play-off against teams from Liga I. Clubul Sportiv al Armatei Steaua București (), commonly known as Steaua București, or simply as Steaua, is a Romanian professional association football, football club based in Bucharest. AFC Turris-Oltul Turnu Măgurele
AFC Turris-Oltul Turnu Măgurele, commonly known as Turris Turnu Măgurele, or simply Turris, was a Romanian professional football club based in Turnu Măgurele, Teleorman County. The team was founded as ''Voința Saelele'' in 1965 and was originally based in Saelele, Teleorman County. The club played only at amateur level, Liga IV and Liga V, until 2017 when it won Liga IV – Teleorman County and the promotion play-off against CS Strehaia ensuring its first Liga III presence. In the summer of the same year the club was moved from Saelele to Turnu Măgurele and changed its name in ''Voința Turnu Măgurele'', then in the summer of 2018 in Turris-Oltul Turnu Măgurele. Clubul Sportiv Aerostar Bacău, commonly known as Aerostar Bacău or simply as Aerostar, is a Romanian professional association football, football club from the city of Bacău, Bacău County, currently playing in the Liga III. Founded in 1956 as ''Victoria Bacău'', "the yellow and blues" are known as the team of the city's Aeronautics, aeronautical manufacturing company. After the Romanian Revolution, fall of communism, the country has undergone a series administrative changes, and in the early 1990s the company changed its name to Aerostar, a name which was also adopted by the football club. CSM Slatina (football)
Clubul Sportiv Municipal Slatina (), commonly known as CSM Slatina or simply Slatina, is a Romanian football club based in Slatina, Olt County, which competes in the Liga II. The club was founded in 2009 as CSM Slatina, quickly obtaining two consecutive promotions to reach the Liga II in 2011. That summer, it merged with FC Piatra Olt and moved from Slatina to Piatra Olt, also changing its name to ''FC Olt Slatina''. At the end of its debut season in the second league, ''FC Olt'' was relegated, but then merged again with another club from Slatina, Alro Slatina. Technically, the new entity was a continuation of Alro Slatina, but with the name of FC Olt Slatina, whereas the original ''FC Olt Slatina''—or the former CSM Slatina—was dissolved. Asociația Club Sportiv Muncitoresc Reșița (), commonly known as CSM Reșița or simply as Reșița, is a professional Football (soccer), football club based in Reșița, Caraș-Severin County, which competes in the Liga II. The club was founded on 16 May 1926 as ''UD (Uzinele și Domeniile) Reșița'' and throughout its almost centennial history survived to many sharp ups and downs, from a national title in 1930–31 Divizia A, 1931 and a silver medal in 1931–32 Divizia A, 1932 to the last shine in the late 1990s, several reorganizations in the 2000s and an almost fatal fall at the level of amateur leagues during the 2010s.
