2021 Vuelta Asturias
The 2021 Vuelta Asturias Julio Alvarez Mendo was a road bicycle racing, road cycling cycling stage race, stage race that took place between 30 April and 2 May 2021 in the Asturias region of northwestern Spain. It was the 63rd edition of the Vuelta Asturias and was part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour calendar as a category 2.1 event. Teams One UCI WorldTeam, ten UCI Professional Continental, UCI ProTeams, and four UCI Continental teams made up the fifteen teams that participated in the race. All but two teams fielded the maximum of seven riders: entered six and entered five. There was a total of 102 riders that started the race. 2021 UCI Europe Tour
The 2021 UCI Europe Tour was the 17th season of the UCI Europe Tour. The season began on 24 January 2021 with the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969 – Gran Premio Valencia and ended on 24 October 2021 with the Ronde van Drenthe. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points are awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Roger Adrià Oliveras (born 18 April 1998) is a Spanish cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . In August 2020, on stage 3 of the Vuelta a Burgos, Adrià was part of the stage's main breakaway of nine riders. Late into the stage, he dropped his fellow breakaway riders and nearly stayed away for the surprise win, but he was caught on the slopes of Picón Blanco with several kilometers left by the general classification contenders. Nevertheless, Adrià was noted for his solo effort and won the stage's combativity award.
