2021 Sun Belt Conference Football Season
The 2021 Sun Belt Conference football season was the 21st season of college football play for the Sun Belt Conference. The season began September 2, 2021 and concluded with its championship game on December 4, 2021. It was part of the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Sun Belt Conference consists of 10 football members split into two divisions. The conference released its schedule on March 1, 2021. Previous season The 2020 season saw 2020 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team, Coastal Carolina win the East Division, while 2020 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team, Louisiana won the West Division. The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. 2020 First Responder Bowl
The 2020 First Responder Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 26, 2020, with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. EST (2:30 p.m. local CST) on ABC. It was the 11th edition of the First Responder Bowl, and was one of the 2020–21 bowl games concluding the 2020 FBS football season. Sponsored by fire and water cleanup and restoration company Servpro, the game was officially known as the Servpro First Responder Bowl. Demetrius Latron Taylor (born May 27, 1999) is an American football defensive tackle for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Appalachian State. College career Taylor played at Appalachian State from 2017 to 2021. He led the Sun Belt Conference with three forced fumbles in the 2019 season. The Chuck Bednarik Award is presented annually to the defensive player of the year in college football as judged by the Maxwell Football Club to be the best in the United States. The award is named for Chuck Bednarik, a former college and professional American football player. Grayson McCall (born December 13, 2000) is an American college football coach and former American football quarterback who is currently an offensive analyst for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. He played college football for the Chanticleers and NC State Wolfpack. The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the college football player judged by a panel of sportscasters, sportswriters, and National Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club to be the best all-around in the United States. Jamey Chadwell (born January 10, 1977) is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Liberty University, a position he has held since the 2023 season.
