2021 Ladies European Tour
The 2021 Ladies European Tour was a series of golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The season was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with many tournaments either being postponed or cancelled. Among the cancellations was the Australian Swing, the tour's season opening. Schedule The table below shows the 2021 schedule. The season featured a month-long European Swing of the LPGA Tour, starting with the Evian Championship in late July. It also saw the introduction of the Aramco Team Series, four tournaments carrying a $1 million total prize fund each held in London, Sotogrande and New York, concluding in Saudi Arabia in November. Pia Babnik
Pia Babnik (born 2 January 2004) is a Slovenian professional golfer. She won the 2019 R&A Girls Amateur Championship. In 2020, 16 years old, she joined the Ladies European Tour, were she won two tournaments the year after. 18 years old, she finished third at one of the professional major championships, the 2022 Chevron Championship. Early life and amateur career Babnik started to play golf at the age of three and joined her first junior golf competition at the age of four, where she also made her first birdie. She has two younger brothers, twins Jaka and Ziga, who both represented Slovenia at the 2022 European Boys' Team Championship. She has won national titles in Slovenia all age groups, and has won many international junior competitions. The Czech Ladies Open is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour, first played in 2019. The tournament is played in Beroun just outside Prague, Czech Republic. The inaugural event was held at Karlštejn Golf Resort, overlooked by Karlštejn Castle and host to the 1997 Czech Open. The European Tour (currently known as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons), legally the PGA European Tour is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. Alice Hewson (born 19 August 1997) is an English professional golfer. She won the 2019 European Ladies Amateur and joined the Ladies European Tour in 2020 to win in her first event, the Investec South African Women's Open. Amateur career Hewson hails from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. She started golf at the age of six with her Dad and played in her first tournament on her seventh birthday. The Scandinavian Masters is an annual golf tournament on the European Tour played in Sweden. In 2020 the tournament became co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour and rebranded as the Scandinavian Mixed, in which both male and female golfers compete. The Jabra Ladies Open is a professional golf tournament, introduced on the Ladies European Tour schedule in 2018. Lucie Malchirand (born 21 February 2003) is a French professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour. In 2021 she won the Ladies Italian Open as an 18 year old amateur.
