2021 K4 League
The 2021 K4 League is the second season of the K4 League as a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of South Korean football league system. Paju Citizen are the defending champions and was promoted together with Ulsan Citizen (the runner-up) to 2021 K3 League. Chuncheon Citizen and Jeonju Citizen were relegated from 2020 K3 League and will play in the K4 League for the first time. Icheon Citizen have disbanded due to financial problems and haven't registered for the league, while Yeoju Citizen (now Yeoju FC) has submitted a new entry in the competition after first announcing their disbandment. Plus, four new teams, Geoje Citizen, Dangjin Citizen, Pyeongchang United (a semi-successor of former K3 League team Pyeongchang FC, disbanded in 2019) and the B team of Gangwon FC were welcomed to the K4 League. Dangjin Citizen
Dangjin () is a city in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. It stands on the south shore of the Bay of Asan. Dangjin borders Incheon, Pyeongtaek, and Hwaseong by sea, and Seosan, Yesan, and Asan by land. Its name means "Tang ferry," and refers to the historic role of Dangjin's harbor in connecting Korea to the other side of the Yellow Sea. This role continues to be important in the city's economy, which relies on a mixture of agriculture and heavy industry. The city has the same Hanja name (唐津市) as Karatsu in Saga Prefecture, Japan. Chuncheon (; ; formerly romanized as Chunchŏn; literally ''spring river'') is the capital of Gangwon Province in South Korea. In sports, a reserve team is a team composed of players under contract to a club but who do not normally play in matches for the first team. The K League 2 (Hangul: K리그2) is the men's second-highest division of the South Korean football league system. It is contested between thirteen professional clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the K League 1. History In 2011, the original K League announced a plan to begin a promotion and relegation system between the K League and a proposed second division. The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank.
