Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna
The Sri Lanka People's Front (; ), commonly known by its Sinhalese name Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), is a political party in Sri Lanka. It was the ruling party in Sri Lanka from 2019 to 2022 and was the largest party in Parliament of Sri Lanka, parliament from 2020 to 2024. Previously a minor political party known as the Sri Lanka National Front (SLNF) and Our Sri Lanka Freedom Front (OSLFF), it was relaunched in 2016 as the SLPP and the party became the base for members of the United People's Freedom Alliance loyal to its former leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Rajapaksa family. The party was formed as a result of a split from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), a centre-left, Sinhalese nationalist, and post-colonial party. The Southern Province ( ''Dakuṇu Paḷāta'', ''Theṉ Mākāṇam'') of Sri Lanka is one of the nine provinces of Sri Lanka, the first level administrative division of the country. The provinces have existed since the 19th century but did not have any legal status until 1987 when the 13th Amendment to the Constitution of Sri Lanka established provincial councils. It is the 7th largest province by area and is home to 2.5 million people, the 3rd most populated province. Tikiri Banda Kobbekaduwa is a Sri Lankan politician who served as the 8th Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka from 21 November 2019 to 10 June 2023. Tissa Vitharana
Upali Tissa Vitharana (born 30 August 1934) is a Sri Lankan politician, former Member of Parliament and former cabinet minister. He is the current leader of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party (LSSP) and served as List of Governors of North Central Province, Governor of North Central Province from 2019 to 2020. Early life and family Vitharana was born 30 August 1934 in Nuwara Eliya in central British Ceylon, Ceylon. He was the son of Pieris Vitharana, a Public Works Department engineer, and N. P. Maggie Perera, sister of N. M. Perera. He was educated at Trinity College, Kandy and Ananda College, Colombo. He played cricket for both schools. After school he joined the University of Ceylon's medical faculty in Colombo, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, MBBS degree. Anuradha Yahampath () is a Sri Lankan textile designer, exporter and former Governor of the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. She is also the director of Kandys, a handloom brand in Sri Lanka and she is also the current chairperson of the National Entrepreneurs Association of Sri Lanka. Career Yahampath is an alumnus of the University of Leeds where she completed her degree in Textile Design. She joined the popular handloom brand Kandygs, owned by her mother Sita Yahampath.
