The 2021 French Open (officially known as the Yonex French Open 2021 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris, France, from 26 to 31 October 2021 and had a total prize of US$600,000. Tournament The 2021 French Open was the sixth tournament according to the 2021 BWF World Tour as many tournaments got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a part of the French Open, which had been held since 1935. This tournament was organized by French Badminton Federation with sanction from the BWF. Stade Pierre De Coubertin (Paris)
The Stade Pierre de Coubertin (French for Pierre de Coubertin Stadium) is an indoor arena that is located in Paris, France. It is the home venue of the Paris Saint-Germain Handball team. Currently, the arena has a seating capacity of 4,200 people for basketball games. History Stade Pierre de Coubertin was opened in 1937, for the Universal Exposition, and it was rebuilt after bombing that occurred during the Second World War. The stadium was used as a detention centre during the Paris massacre of 1961. In 1990, the arena underwent a renovation, which included a new façade, expansion of its seating capacity, and the addition of various service areas. French Badminton Federation (FFBaD, french: Fédération Française de Badminton) is the national governing body for the sport of badminton in France. As of 2017, it has more than 191,600 registered players across the country and 1,977 affiliated badminton clubs. Srikanth Kidambi
Srikanth Kidambi (born 7 February 1993) is an Indian badminton player. A former world no. 1, Kidambi was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award, in 2018. and the Arjuna award in 2015. Heo Kwang-hee
Heo Kwang-hee (; born 11 August 1995) is a South Korean badminton player who was educated at the Dankook University. He was selected to join the national team in 2012, and joined the Samsung Electro-Mechanics team in 2014. Heo was the bronze medalists at the 2012 World Junior Championships in the boys' singles and team event, and Asian Junior Championships in the team event. Heo later won the boys' singles and mixed team gold medals at the 2013 World Junior Championships, and the mixed team silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships. Angus Ng Ka-long (born 24 June 1994) is a badminton player from Hong Kong. He has a career-high ranking of 6th in the men's singles discipline. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (; born October 20, 1996) is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. At the 2020 Olympics, he won bronze in the men's singles event. He became the first Youth Olympic badminton medalist to win a medal at the Olympics, having also won bronze in 2014. Anders Antonsen (born 27 April 1997) is a Danish badminton player.
