2021 Doha Diamond League
The 2021 Doha Diamond League was the 23rd edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Doha, Qatar. Held on 28 May at the Suheim bin Hamad Stadium, it was the second leg of the 2021 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. The meeting was highlighted by Faith Kipyegon's 1:58.26 victory in the 800 metres, done in an unusual negative split of 60.8 seconds for the first lap followed by 57.4 seconds for the final lap. Results Athletes competing in the Diamond League disciplines earned extra compensation and points which went towards qualifying for the Diamond League finals in Zürich. First place earned 8 points, with each step down in place earning one less point than the previous, until no points are awarded in 9th place or lower. Justin Gatlin
Justin Alexander Gatlin (born February 10, 1982) is a retired American sprinter who competed in the 60 meters, 100 meters, and 200 meters. He is the 2004 Olympic Champion in the 100 meters, the 2005 and 2017 World Champion in the 100 meters, the 2005 World Champion in the 200 meters, and the 2019 World Champion in the 4 × 100 meters relay. Ferguson Cheruiyot Rotich (born 30 November 1989) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner who competes in the 800 metres. He has a personal best of 1:42.54 minutes for the event. He represented Kenya at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics and was a gold medallist in the 4×800 metres relay at the 2014 IAAF World Relays. Kevin Borlée (; born 22 February 1988) is a Belgian sprinter, who specializes in the 400 metres. He is a member of the Borlée family. Borlée won bronze at the 2011 World Championships in the 400 m. He qualified for the finals of the 400 metres at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was also a semi-finalist at both the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2009 World Championships, and is the 2010 European Champion on this distance. Ammar Ismail Yahia Ibrahim (born 18 September 1996) is a Qatari sprinter. He is the 2022 GCC Games, 2023 West Asian Athletics Championships, and 2023 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships gold medalist in the 400 metres. Biography Ibrahim's first international competition was at the 2020 Turkish Athletics Championships, where he placed third in the 400 m but was not eligible for awards as a foreign national.
