2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara Final
The final of the third season of the Copa Paulino Alcantara was contested by the Azkals Development Team and Kaya F.C.–Iloilo on 19 November 2021 on neutral ground at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite. Background Both ADT and Kaya–Iloilo were drawn to Group B along with Mendiola for the 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara. Both teams faced against each other in their first match of the tournament. Kaya–Iloilo prevailed 2–0 over ADT. Kaya–Iloilo finished on the top of the group after winning 6–0 over Mendiola qualifying for the semifinals. ADT also qualified after routing Mendiola 9–0. ADT and Kaya–Iloilo figured against the only two teams of Group A; Cebu and Stallion Laguna. The third team of that group, United City, withdrew assuring the remaining teams a place in the semifinals. 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara
The 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara was the third edition of the Copa Paulino Alcantara, the domestic football cup competition of the Philippines. United City (then called Ceres–Negros) won the previous edition in 2019, but withdrew from the 2021 edition. Kaya–Iloilo won their second title by defeating the Azkals Development Team 1–0 in the final. All matches were played at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite. Scheduling The Copa Paulino Alcantara was not held in the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the league tournament held under a bubble format. There were initially plans to hold the cup tournament earlier in the year, but it was cancelled in March 2021 (along with several postponements to the 2021 Philippines Football League). The final of the inaugural season of the Copa Paulino Alcantara was contested by Davao Aguilas F.C. and Kaya F.C.–Iloilo on 27 October 2018 on a neutral ground at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila. The match also determined the second qualifying team which would represent the Philippines at the 2019 AFC Cup with Ceres-Negros F.C. earlier qualified through winning the 2018 Philippines Football League.
