2021 Canoe Slalom World Cup
The 2021 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of four races in several canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 34th edition. Calendar The series opened with World Cup Race 1 in Prague, Czech Republic (11–13 June) and closed with the World Cup Final in Pau-Pyrénées Whitewater Stadium, Pau, France (10–12 September). Standings The winner of each race was awarded 60 points (with double points awarded for the World Cup Final). Points for lower places differed from one category to another. Every participant was guaranteed at least 2 points for participation and 5 points for qualifying for the semifinal run. International Canoe Federation
The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is the umbrella organization of all national canoe organizations worldwide. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and administers all aspects of canoe sport worldwide. 157 countries are affiliated with the ICF after seven national federations were added at the 2008 ICF Congress in Rome. In light of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ICF suspended athletes from Russia and Belarus from competing at any International Canoe Federation events, and suspended all officials from Russia and Belarus from officiating at any event sanctioned by ICF, and from attending or taking part in any ICF meetings, committees, and forums. Vojtěch Heger
Vojtěch Heger (born 23 August 2000) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2016. Heger competes in the C1 class and in kayak slalom, having initially competed in C2 alongside his older brother Tomáš and later with Antonie Galušková. Heger began paddling with KVS Hradec Králové in 2005, following his mother and brother into the sport. He moved to Brandýs nad Labem in 2015 and then to Prague, home of the Prague-Troja Canoeing Centre. He is currently studying physical education at Charles University. He won a silver medal in the C1 team event at the 2021 World Championships in Bratislava alongside Lukáš Rohan and Václav Chaloupka, ending a seven year drought for the Czech Republic in C1M events at the World Championships. Elena Apel
Elena Lilik (née Apel, born 14 September 1998) is a German slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2014. She is from Weimar, Germany but resides in Augsburg, home of the Augsburg Eiskanal. She won six medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with two golds (C1: 2021, K1 team: 2022), three silvers (K1: 2021, Extreme: 2021, C1 team: 2022) and one bronze (K1: 2022). Lilik has won four medals at the European Championships including two silver medals in the C1 team and K1 team events at the 2019 European Championships in Pau, France and two bronze medals in the C1 event at the 2018 and 2021 events. Jessica Esther "Jess" Fox (born 11 June 1994) is a French-born Australian world and Olympic champion slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2008. She qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she made her Olympic debut at 18 years of age, winning a silver medal in the K1 event. She won a bronze medal in the same event four years later in Rio de Janeiro, and again at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Roberto Colazingari (born 7 May 1993) is an Italian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2008. He is from Subiaco and trains with C.S. Lukáš Rohan (; born 30 May 1995) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2010. He is from Mělník, Czech Republic but lives and trains in Prague. Lukáš now competes solely in the C1 discipline, however he competed in the C2 discipline alongside Adam Svoboda and Martin Říha at different times between 2010 and 2015. Matija Marinić
Matija Marinić (born 24 December 1990) is a Croatian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2006. Matija competed in the C1 event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, finishing 11th. He is from Zagreb and is coached by 1992 Olympian Stjepan Perestegi. Personal life Matija married Tea Budimir, a physiotherapist, in 2016 and has a child named Marko. He is from Rijeka on the Kvarner Gulf and currently lives in Croatia's capital city, Zagreb.
