2021 Armed Forces Bowl
The 2021 Armed Forces Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 22, 2021, with kickoff at 8:00 p.m. EST (7:00 p.m. local CST) on ESPN. It was the 19th edition of the Armed Forces Bowl, and was one of the 2021–22 bowl games concluding the 2021 FBS football season. Sponsored by aerospace and defense company Lockheed Martin, the game was officially known as the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl. Teams While the bowl had tie-ins with the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and Conference USA (C-USA), the actual matchup featured a team from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and an FBS independent. Harrison Mevis (born March 27, 2002), nicknamed the Thiccer Kicker, is a college football kicker for the Missouri Tigers. Early years Mevis attended Warsaw Community High School in Warsaw, Indiana. Ranked the number 8 overall kicker in the class of 2020, he committed to Missouri. College career As a freshman, Mevis went 17/20 (85%) on field goals including a game winning field goal against Arkansas. He also went 28/28 on PATs as a freshman. As a sophomore, Mevis emerged as one of the premier place kickers in the nation, going 23/25 (93%) on field goal attempts. Brady Cook (born October 12, 2001) is an American football quarterback for the Missouri Tigers. High school career Cook attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in Creve Coeur, Missouri. As a senior, Cook threw for 33 touchdowns and 3,194 yards. Cook was rated as a three-star recruit and the number one quarterback in Missouri, and committed to play college football at University of Missouri. Conference USA
Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech.
