The 2020–21 Michigan Stars FC season was the club's second season playing in the third division National Independent Soccer Association and first full professional season. Michigan Stars FC
Michigan Stars Football Club is an American professional soccer team based in the Metro Detroit area. The team currently competes in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). History The club was established circa 1998 as Windsor Spartans FC in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. In 2012, the team moved to the Metro Detroit area in Michigan, and joined the National Premier Soccer League as FC Sparta Michigan for the 2013 season. In January 2014, the team was purchased by Dearborn Sports Enterprise (DSE) and rebranded Michigan Stars FC. The team went on hiatus for the 2018 season, and during this time, George Juncaj purchased a 50% stake in the club. The team returned for the NPSL 2019 season and the 2019 NPSL Members Cup. The club is based in Matthews, North Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte. The Duquesne Dukes are the athletic teams of Duquesne University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Dukes compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Football and bowling, however, compete in the Northeast Conference. Sebastien Francois Turenne Des Pres (born 11 November 1998) is an American soccer player who last played for Michigan Stars FC in the National Independent Soccer Association. Club career Des Pres joined the academy at Real Salt Lake in 2015, scoring two goals in 33 games in the 2015–16 season. In January 2017, he joined Football League Two side Blackpool on an 18-month contract. He made his debut for the Seasiders in an EFL Trophy game against Wycombe Wanderers on 10 January 2017. Dayton Dutch Lions is an American soccer team based in Dayton, Ohio, United States. Founded in 2009, the team plays in USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid.
