The 2020–21 season was the 77th season in the existence of FC Nantes and the club's 8th consecutive season in the top flight of French football. In addition to the domestic league, Nantes participated in this season's edition of the Coupe de France. The season covered the period from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. Football Club de Nantes, commonly referred to as FC Nantes or simply Nantes (; ; Gallo language, Gallo: ''Naunnt''), is a French professional association football, football club based in Nantes in Pays de la Loire. The club was founded on 21 April 1943, during World War II, as a result of local clubs based in the city coming together to form one large club. From 1992 to 2007, the club was referred to as FC Nantes Atlantique before reverting to its current name at the start of the 2007–08 Ligue 2, 2007–08 season. Nantes play in Ligue 1, the first division of Football in France. List Of FC Nantes Seasons
This is a list of the seasons played by FC Nantes, from their entry into the Ligue 2, Championnat de France Division 2 in 1945 until the present day. The club's achievements in all major national and international competitions are listed. Nantes has been very successful in domestic competitions, winning eight Ligue 1, French top division titles. The club is also four-time winners of the Coupe de France and three-time winners of the Trophée des Champions, and won the Coupe de la Ligue in 1965. Since 1945, Nantes has spent 55 seasons in Ligue 1, Ligue 1/Division 1, including 44 consecutive seasons between 1963 and 2007. The club has spent the remaining 23 seasons of their existence in Ligue 2, Ligue 2/Division 2, having never been relegated below this level. Charles Blonda Traoré (born 1 January 1992) is a Malian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for the Mali national team. Club career Traoré joined Troyes in August 2015. He made his professional debut a few months later, in a 3–1 Ligue 1 victory against Lille. Dennis Appiah ( ; born 9 June 1992) is a French professional footballer who plays for club Saint-Étienne. He was a France youth international, having earned caps at under-16, under-17, and under-18 level. Appiah played as a defensive midfielder. For both Nantes and Saint-Étienne, he's been playing in defence as a full-back and a centre-back in a back three. Marcus Regis Coco (born 24 June 1996) is a Guadeloupean professional footballer who plays as a right midfielder, right wing-back or right winger for Guadeloupe national team. Club career Coco is a youth exponent from EA Guingamp. He made his Ligue 1 debut on 1 February 2015 against Girondins de Bordeaux starting the match and being substituted after 60 minutes for Lionel Mathis. Pedro Chirivella
Pedro Chirivella Burgos (; born 23 May 1997) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Ligue 1 club Nantes, whom he also captains. He began his professional career at Liverpool, playing 11 games, of which one in the Premier League.
