2020 Súper TC2000
The 2020 Súper TC2000 Championship was the 42nd season of Turismo Competición 2000 and the 9th season of Súper TC2000, the premier touring car category of Argentina. It started in September 2020 and finished in February 2021 having been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina. Matías Rossi won the championship, his second of the Súper TC2000 era and fifth overall. Teams and drivers Changes * The two main novelties for the season were the arrival of the private Midas Carrera Team and Monti Motorsport teams. Also, the Citroën subsidiary officially stopped supporting the FDC team. * Julián Santero missed the second race for positive COVID-19, while Matías Milla didn't participate in the third for the same reason. Matías Rossi
Matías Rossi (born 2 April 1984) is an Argentine racecar driver. He competes full-time in the Turismo Carretera, driving the No. 317 Toyota Camry for Toyota Gazoo Racing and in the Stock Car Pro Series, driving the No. 117 Toyota Corolla for A. Mattheis Vogel Motorsport. He is the youngest person to win back-to-back TC2000 championships, in 2006–2007. In 2010 he won the Konex Award. He began his career by driving go-karts at the age of 11. He raced outside his homeland in American Formula One Championships and World Formula One Championships. Returning to Argentina, he started competing in Formula Renault and then in the Formula Super Renault series. He joined the Turismo Carretera racing series in 2003. Rubens "Rubinho" Gonçalves Barrichello (, ; born 23 May 1972) is a Brazilian professional racing driver who competed in Formula One between and . He currently competes full-time in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series, driving the No. 111 Toyota Corolla E210 for Full Time Sports. He scored 11 Grand Prix wins and 68 podiums. Autódromo Oscar Y Juan Gálvez
The Autódromo de Buenos Aires Oscar y Juan Gálvez is a 45,000 capacity motor racing circuit in Buenos Aires, Argentina built in 1952 under president Juan Perón, named ''Autódromo 17 de Octubre'' after the date of Loyalty Day until Perón's overthrow. It was later renamed after Argentinian racing driver brothers, Juan Gálvez (1916–1963) and Oscar Alfredo Gálvez (1913–1989). Description The circuit is located in a park in the southern part of the city and is situated on flat lands surrounded by large grandstands, giving most spectators an excellent view area of the whole circuit. The TCR Europe Touring Car Series is an annual touring car racing event that is held at various locations across Europe. The series is run in accordance with the TCR Touring Car regulations with production-based cars that are front-wheel drive and powered by 2.0-litre turbocharged engines. The FIA World Touring Car Cup (abbreviated to WTCR, referring to the use of TCR regulations) was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Ricardo ''Caíto'' Risatti (born September 27, 1986, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine racing driver who has progressed through the ranks of formula single-seater racing in South America and Europe. He was the 2006 Spanish Formula Three champion and now competes in the Argentine touring car series, TC 2000. Career history Risatti began his junior racing career in karting in 1998. Franco Girolami (born February 14, 1992 in Isla Verde, Córdoba Province) is an Argentine motor racing driver. He won Formula Renault Plus, TC2000, Top Race V6 and TCR Europe Touring Car Series championships. Franco is the brother of the WTCR driver Néstor Girolami. Juan Manuel Silva
Juan Manuel Silva (born October 12, 1972 in Resistencia, Chaco), nicknamed ''el Pato'' ("the Duck") is an Argentine racing driver. In 1999 he was the champion of the TC 2000 competition and in 2005 he was the champion of the Turismo Carretera competition. Biography His father used to build racing cars for him. Diego Ciantini
Diego José Ciantini (born 21 July 1998) is a racing driver from Argentina. Biography Ciantini began racing in low-level Argentine open-wheeler series in 2014, before stepping up to the second tier of domestic touring cars in 2015. In 2016 he moved to Europe to contest Formula 4 in Italy and Germany with Jenzer Motorsport, finishing on the podium once at Imola in a red-flag finish caused by an accident he was involved in.
