2020 Scheldeprijs
The 2020 Scheldeprijs was the 108th edition of the Scheldeprijs road cycling one day race. It was originally scheduled to be held on 8 April 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to 14 October 2020. It was a 1.Pro event on the 2020 UCI Europe Tour and the 2020 UCI ProSeries. In previous years, the race course has included sections in both Belgium and the Netherlands, and was originally planned to start in the Dutch city of Terneuzen and finish in the Belgian city of Schoten. However, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the Netherlands, the race course was altered to 10 laps of a course in and around Schoten. Australian rider Caleb Ewan of won the sprint comfortably by a margin of a few bike lengths ahead of the rest of the field. 2020 UCI Europe Tour
The 2020 UCI Europe Tour is the sixteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2020 season began on 25 January 2020 with the GP Belek and ended on 14 October 2020 with the Scheldeprijs. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. The UCI ratings from highest to lowest are as follows: * Multi-day events: 2.Pro, 2.1 and 2.2 * One-day events: 1.Pro, 1.1 and 1.2 Events January February March April–June No race were held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sam Bennett (born 16 October 1990) is an Irish professional cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is a road sprinter who turned professional in 2011. Jasper Philipsen (born 2 March 1998) is a Belgian professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . Career In July 2019, he was named in the startlist for the 2019 Tour de France. In October 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Vuelta a España, where he won stage 15. He participated in his second Tour de France in 2021 and while he did not win any stages he had many promising results including finishing on the stage podium a half dozen times.
