2020 Korean Tour
The 2020 Korean Tour was the tenth season of the Korean Tour to carry Official World Golf Ranking points. The season consisted of 11 official events. All the tournaments had prize funds of at least 500 million won (approximately US$500,000). Six had prize funds of 1 billion won ($1,000,000) or more. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2020 season. Order of Merit The Order of Merit was titled as the Genesis Points and was based on prize money won during the season, calculated using a points-based system. The leading player on the tour (not otherwise exempt) earned status to play on the 2021 European Tour. Lee Soo-min ( ko, 이수민; born 12 October 1993) is a South Korean professional golfer. Lee won the 2013 Gunsan CC Open on the Korean Tour while still an amateur. He turned professional in 2014 and began playing regularly on the Korean Tour, winning the Gunsan CC Open again in 2015. He earned a 2015 Asian Tour card through qualifying school; as a rookie, he recorded two top-three finishes and placed 29th on the Order of Merit. In February 2016 Lee was joint runner-up in the Maybank Championship Malaysia, an event co-sanctioned by the European Tour and the Asian Tour. In April he won the European Tour's Shenzhen International on a sponsor exemption, giving him full European Tour membership. The Genesis Championship is a men's professional golf tournament in South Korea. The inaugural event was held at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea from 21 to 24 September 2017. Prize money was KRW1,500,000,000, the largest for any Korean Tour event. The winner received KRW300,000,000 and an automatic entry to the CJ Cup and Genesis Open on the PGA Tour. 2020–21 Japan Golf Tour
The 2020–21 Japan Golf Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments organised by the Japan Golf Tour Organization. The 2020 season was originally scheduled to be played from 16 January to 6 December 2020, and comprised 25 official money events, mostly in Japan. Other than the four majors, which are played outside Japan, there was one event in Singapore and one event in South Korea; the SMBC Singapore Open which is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour, and the Shinhan Donghae Open which is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the Korean Tour. Most of the scheduled tournaments were cancelled during 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
